I definitely agree that the ship debris alone doesn’t necessarily point towards submarines. But Gszabi hinting at submarines isn’t nothing either.

They should have oil slicks, those visual effects were added last year in 2.30.0.15 along w/ the vfx for submarines( which is how I remember that they were added ). If you’re not seeing them, it might be an error or bug.
Should have been in 2.39.0.97, along w/ the rest of the anniversary hangar visual assets. I made an image gallery of HMS Vigilant here the last time it was in the files, if you want to see it.

We don’t have any concrete evidence yet… but I’m hoping for the December update too.
We know that update is likely to have the Hornets, so maybe it will have a somewhat Naval theme anyway. People often describe the December update as the most “hype,” usually introducing new vehicle classes or new tech trees.
- 2023, Air Superiority, 4th gen air superiority fighters
- 2022, Apex Predators, Rank VIII, new AI carriers
- 2021, Winged Lions, Israeli aircraft, Scharnhorst, scout planes
- 2020, Hot Tracks… actually let’s forget about Hot Tracks. New Power was the big update that year
- 2019, Northern Wind, Swedish aircraft
All I’m saying is that if Hornets are going to be the hot-ticket item of the December update, which seems likely, there’s probably going to be something hot for Naval too.
Whether that ends up being submarines or just bigger battleships, we don’t know yet.

Yes, and a lot of people tought it was not really possible that submarines would be added to the game because of the unbalanced gameplay, for ships and all, but I think the last event of submarines “Battle of the Atlantic” showed that it was truly possible and could be balanced.
If gaijin wants to relaunch the sea battles they need to make subs. Im 100% sure they will put the subs in.
The question is when. Im up for december like you but now maybe they will wait and add the subs when there will be no more to add on tech trees and that they will run out of inspiration…
And yes im thinking like you, 99% sure a big naval thing is coming this december. Maybe more advanced ships like you said. But more advanced ships mean that a lot of them will have anti sub warfare stuff that will be usefull. By the way there is already a lot of sub hunter boats in the game.
