I really don’t know how they are going to handle things like the Mark 24 Mine considering they can apear at a BR as low as 1.3 with the PBY-5. Since its more of a Torpedo than a depth charge

those are anti-ship magnetic mines they float on the surface for a little bit before they sink and despawn

It’s because Gaijin’s stance hasn’t changed. They’re not going to tell us about submarines until they have something to announce.

What we can say is that Gaijin is definitely working on submarines. There’s substantial evidence in the files, like submarine spawn locations, submarine voice lines, and anti-submarine weapons. However, we don’t know how committed Gaijin is to the idea; or if they are committed, when submarines would be added.

I would be more than happy if Subs would remain an occasional event returning every now and then to the game, rather than being a toxic scourge on the rest of the naval mode.

remind me again the dive time, submerged speed, surface speed and torpedo speed of WW2 subs ?

Submerged time was a few hours on average sprinting, or 10-20hrs+ submerged, so there will be no oxygen timer just like how there is no fuel timer for naval hopefully. Otherwise they will have a revolt on their hands.

The other thing that I think will heavily contribute to not needing Subs to be on a timer is the far more fleshed out ASW mechanics (e.g. Hydrophone, Air dropped Anti-sub (guided) torpedo’s, Anti-sub rockets depth charges, etc.) than WoWs.

Yes, subs should be able to basically hard counter large vessels, but smaller faster ships and Aircraft should be much more able to prosecute them if they are detected.

While Sweden doesn’t currently have a naval tree, cough cough, their subs would be the best.

Would naval need a rework if sub’s are added?
Mainly because for the Smaller ship’s like destroyer’s and sub hunter’s to destroy sub’s, They would need to be able to kinda hunt sub’s freely without the risk of being one shot from bigger ships?

I’m thinking a sub hiding being near a friendly battleship might be a deadly duo but idk
