I suppose a uss nevada(Sub) to go with my uss nevada(BB). Though nuclear ballistic submarines may be 10+ years away at this point.

I think we could see them earlier then you think atomic reactors are just a different way to boil water. There torpedoes don’t care.

I think they’re not too far off. WTM already has several nuclear submarines, including modern ones.
The only question about ballistic missile subs is how to balance them. Since their armament is strategic, not tactical, they would have a lower performance than other similarly-equipped submarines of the same time period…
Unless Gaijin adds some kind of missile launch objective to naval battles which would be actually really cool

It could become the nuke of modern naval battles.
Hop in a SSBN, reach a designated area (during which enemy team can try to sink you) and launch once in said area
They could also come like regular submarines, since they usually share the same armament as their smaller SSN counterparts : torps and sometimes antiship missiles

Boomer boats can be added in the normal tree as well just no nukes in there weapon bays. They are really big boats and not very flexible. Combat wise they will be effective but smaller non atomic subs will be better.

Right that’s what I was trying to say. Obvs we’re not going to sling MIRVs at other players. But they will just have a lower performance than a SSN of a similar time period

Less manoeuverable yes. Also some of the weapon load outs for what we need tend to be torpedoes. Attack subs tend to get more toys

It’s entirely possible that submarines got pushed back. After all, we were supposed to hear about them before spearhead, then it got moved to the Q&A. So it might have gotten moved to next year, which makes sense since usually the Q&A talks about future plans, and not anything in the coming update.

I think this update list is one big MEME they stated no leaks so the best thing they can do is troll a little.
I do think it looks kind of suspicious in some ways. Usually there are a lot more “deep cuts” in any update’s roster. This is either the vehicles that are the most obvious picks or copy/paste… but there are some oddballs there too.
I have my own theories about what’s going on behind the scenes in the leaker community but I won’t get into it here. As for now, I’ll await official information from Gaijin, which sounds like it’ll be pretty soon
