So is Fletcher. JDS Chikugo with that Submarine Annihilator 9000 ™ launcher is in game for 6 years. Not to mention fully functional Hedgehog launcher on various ships. Btw. that yellow submarine looking thing on the back of Chikugo is floating sonar.
There is no doubt Gaijin wants to add submarines in future (datamined voicelines) but saying that just because they add ASW ship is long stretch.
No submarines featured in the trailer, so maybe next year :(
There’s 2 more updates this year, and they promised new class of ships for 2025. The party is not over.

Anyway, we already have Corvettes in game but they are marked as “Heavy boat” so new ship type must be submarine or aircraft carrier. Or perhaps coastal defence ship? Those are pretty cool too.

Dev on RU stream said that there may be some info about subs before the next update. I assume he was talking about late October/early November update

How are Subs ever going to even compete at this point, can’t imagine avoiding a Mk 46 dropped on your head is going to be easy, let alone one that is sonar / radar cued.
