Su-57's radar suite is actually better, F-22 is ageing badly. [Not Ragebait]

Apparently not the final canopy shape, if one is to believe this tweet - or maybe I’m reading this wrong: https://x.com/GeorgeN28581/status/2057404010143871037

and its similarly limited on the SU57, if not even worse

at least the F35 can have a decent magazine depth for internal stand off guided weapons using stuff like GBU53

what are you even saying at this point…
what can the f35A carry inside the bay, the su57 can carry double.

it cant though

it has very few weapons integrated
and doesnt have an option similar to GBU53/SDB/JAGM-F that gives it a large number of guided weapons carried internally while retaining internal medium range missiles

and even then the one place SU57 seems ahead is with long range cruise missiles, which is probably the least important thing to carry internally because you can launch them from much further away

because russia does operate these type of weapons, plus if you want to compare them to su57 weapons, they have nearly 3x less range and also one is 50kg explosive and the other is 300kg.

if we are talking sead, thats x2 SAW sead missile againt x4 kh58
same with long range strike, x2 agm-158 ( non-er) againts x4 kh69 / 59mk2.
and will all that, the su57 still retain x2 self defense ir missile unlike f35.

your right, the F35 only retains 2 medium range ARH missiles while carrying those…

This is incorrect on so many levels

oh right, was mixing the A and B variant.

trailblazer vs follower

I didn’t mention the start of development and production of the Su-57, because the Su-57’s development began back in 2002. And the F-22 isn’t an export aircraft. It would be more reasonable to compare it to the F-35.

soyjacking at the gdp isnt a good argument, if you want to believe that cope you do you, its cope though and you know it

You just picked some random words and tossed them all together… You’re arguing with ghosts because you dont actually have a response to the point being made, the point is Russia is a sanctioned country with an economy smaller than multiple countries people hype as industrial powerhouses yet they still managed to build, operate, and export a 5th gen fighter when countries that are economically on par or better than them couldnt even go past the drawing phase.

my brother in christ search up on russia’s purchasing power then come back here to yap, whilst youre also there look up percentage spent on defence. make sure to look up pre war numbers. gdp is not very useful insofar as understand military procurement and defense spending.

Brother you just destroyed your own argument lol. PPP is literally part of the point. Even adjusted for PPP Russia is still operating with a far smaller economic and industrial base than the combined West (while under sanctions) with weaker access to high end tech and a much smaller aerospace ecosystem. Yet they still managed to operate and export a 5th gen fighter before multiple richer European countries (even with intereuropean partnerships between themselves) even got close, thats the point.

Nobody said that the Su-57 program rivals the F-35 in scale or success, you dragged in america because you need the biggest military industrial machine on earth just to make Russia’s achievement sound terrible. And if the accomplishment was supposedly so unimpressive European countries with better semiconductor access, stronger civilian aerospace sectors, access to every single market imaginable etc would already have their own operational 5th gen fighter instead of FCAS arguments and CGI artist views 15 years in. And about the pre-war argument, if anything it makes it worse for your point because most of the PAK FA program was developed before the war and before Russia shifted into wartime spending, so even with a normal peacetime budget they still got a 5th gen fighter into service and exported it.

“Brother you just destroyed your own argument lol. PPP is literally part of the point. Even adjusted for PPP Russia is still operating with a far smaller economic and industrial base than the combined West”
… uuhh whats your argument? the combined west isnt developing a 5th gen fighter lol.

jesus the cope. you realized that PPP made your argument moot so you had to bring up a nonsense argument. what the west is developing isnt a 5th gen. theyre developing a 6th gen.

also if you like su57 you shouldnt be defending the program handling.

You’re confused because you keep switching the comparison every 2 replies. First it was “Russia failed because F-35 numbers” thhen it was “a PPP makes GDP irrelevant” now its “actually go compare Russia to single countries, not the West”
Okay fine then, lets compare single countries then.

France? They dont have an operational indigenous 5th gen fighter. Germany? None. UK? None. Italy? None. Russia? They did it under sanctions with a smaller economy than several of them individually. And the "they are making 6th gen now” argument is even funnier because you are basically admitting they couldnt field an indigenous operational 5th gen fighter altogether so they had to skip it. You’re comparing a futuristic powerpoint project to a serial produced fighter jet…

And again the PPP helps explain why Russia can sustain military production better than the nominal GDP alone suggests. It doesn’t turn Russia into an economic giant with US level aerospace capacity.

Compare the FCAS with PAK FA. One is a powerpoint slide, the other is literally flying as we speak.

go reread what i said then talk.

Fcas and gcap are 6th gen…

To be fair a GCAP flight demonstrator aircraft is under construction by BAE already. It’s not the full aircraft yet, but considering the program was effectively started only in 2022 when Tempest and F-X programs were merged that’s not bad.

(Image from 2024)

It’s not the final aircraft of course, more of an EAP style situation, but it will be a flying testbed for the project.
