That is why I’m trying to push the discussion, for adding radar guided missiles to Su-39.
Su-25 is a subsonic, non-afterburning jet aircraft that would better fit at 9.3 BR, but is pushed to 10.3 BR just because it has access to R-60M missiles.
Unfortunately, Su-39 is the only version of Su-25 that got access to radar, in a form of external radar pod.
Let’s see if they begin to respect the historical armament of all the planes, this one and the bison and the f20, yak141, j37D, J7 because it is ridiculous that they put the armament on it when it suits them.
You mean they are correctly placing equipment on planes for their role in their tree? Yes give f-4e aim-9l because I’m not smart and don’t understand where is it in the tree
Do you think only the planes in the game exist? No. There are thousands of variants of prototype models, they can very easily replace failing aircraft if they use historical weapons.
I think the R-27R and R-27T could have been obtained without the BR increase. In fact on 11.3 there are airplanes with better missiles than R-27R and R-27T. Considering not the best radar, it would be quite balanced.
The R-27ER or R-77 would naturally require a BR adjustment to 11.7-12.0, which the developers apparently don’t want.
In the future, when the Su-39 will have EW containers MSP-410 and Anti-radar Kh-25MPU, then perhaps its BR will become a little higher (just decompression will occur), and then it will be possible to offer the R-77
Yep, those probably would be fine considering the BR and current state of compression.
I still reckon R-77s would require a BR at minimum of 12.7/13.0. Even with further decompression It would sit notably higher than it does now and would at a minimum be at the same BR as early gen 4s like the F-16A.
High Tier Su-25’s already struggles at air Rb due to bein slow attacker, adding ARH system will only make it worse the current air rb experience for them.
Sea Harrier FA2 which on paper is only a Harrier Gr3 (9.7) with a good radar and 4x AMRAAM is 13.0. Su-39 with 2x R-77s would be at least 12.7, about in-line with early gens
I was talking about GRB BR, not ARB. That’s basically all I play.
In essence the BR in the ARB is of little concern to me. So I was talking about GRB first and foremost
I’m all for adding all available weaponry to vehicles that used them.
Only problem with that is that it’s hard to balance vehicles, like that.
Back in 2017, there were talks about adding dynamic BR system to the game, based on equipped modifications (having a checkmark “✔” on a researched modification).
For example, when BMP-1 was added it had a modification called “BMP-1P”. Unlike modifications on most vehicles, researching and equipping that modification would transform ordinary BMP-1 to BMP-1P which is drastically different from base model (in both appearance and performance).
Difference between base model and upgraded model was so high, there were talks about a system that would change a vehicles BR based on equipped modules (in this case, base BMP-1 would have 7.3 BR, while BMP-1P would have 7.7 BR).
Similar system could be used in Air RB.
For example, you could have a Su-25 without R-60M missile modification equipped have a 9.3 BR, while if the modification was equipped, then it’s BR in Air RB would increase to 10.3 BR.
Same could be done with air-to-ground weaponry. Aircraft with only unguided bombs and rockets would have lower BR compared to one with researched guided air-to-ground weapon modifications.
Here is an old topic about a similar suggestion:
This system would have many advantages, but it has few disadvantages:
It would require a lot of time and effort to implement
It would make a more enjoyable stock grind, thus reducing the number of players that reach for their credit card, to reduce their suffering
It would create an additional identification problem (for example, let’s assume you encounter an enemy A-10A, while flying an aircraft with no flares - how would you know if that aircraft is the one without AIM-9L missiles with lower BR, or the one with missiles on a higher BR?)
Yep, this would be an excellent addition to many difficult to balance vehicles. Just make it a player choice if they want to deal with the consequences of a significantly increased BR.
(though I do feel like aircraft like the Tornado F3 late show they really really dont want to consider that option at the moment)
Kopyo-25 has a max radar scope range of 20km in GMT mode (which can detect ships as well), whereas IRL the radar can detect ships at a range of 75 km (300 m^2 RCS):
