Su-39: R77,R27,R73

I mean, tbh it’s still not too late for them to rename the Su-39 to the 25TK, it’s exactly the same as the TK right now plus it wouldn’t do em no damage really

This promise is still really vague about what kind of Su-25 we are actually getting. All they promise is that it will supersede the Su-39, but it really depends on Gajjins idea of what superior can mean. The only way, in my eyes at least, that you could fully supersede the Su-39 is by simply adding one to the tech tree with all the capabilities that our current premium one is missing, but at the same time I fear that what gajjin actually means is that they are just going to add some side grade Su-25, that won’t have all the capabilities and features many of us were looking forward to on the Su-39

yes but as of right now you gotta wait until this happens, the argument of wanting to give radar missles to the SU 39 right now, just doesnt work currently

Well I’m more trying to express my general confusion about what the devs are actually planning, cus I’m just not sure. The funny thaing is that we found R-27 pylons for the Su-39 in the files, so its hard to say if their wating for the game to move on before they add them, or if the were also working on another Su-39 and that will be the final one. I just don’t know at this point

the CV-90-105 got completely changed and went up a full BR, there’s no rule about not changing premiums

So you think the Su-39 at 12.3 is going to make its current problems better? Where it could very likely start encountering aircraft like the Typhoon with AMRAAM is the not too distant a future

The cv didnt break br limitation of premiums it has enough playroom that it was possible. Ground br limit is 10.3. If it was 9.0 , there is plenty of room

I don’t think it would go above 11.3 at all, two R-27s on a subsonic doesn’t put it anywhere close to the F-14A at 11.7 or whatever. I’m just saying capabilities can change on premiums, I mean, it already got R-73s

u are only considering the ARB performance, you need to look at every game mode, it makes the SU 39 very potent in GRB and SIM specialy where it shines. And would raise its performance considerably. CAS planes shine the most in the SIM gamemode where it is a great aircraft. I cant say much about AAB battles, but there as well it becomes a missle truck with 6 potent missle which could bring problems combined with its sturdy airframe.

Just stop the topic, the thing isnt made fpr ARB currently and would break the balance of several other gamemodes

I forgot about that, so we know it’s at least thought about or planned, same goes for Khod

It’s hard to say if they are thinking about it, or if this is just work being done to lay the foundation for some improved Su-39 variant. That being said, while the Khod pod will be better than no thermals, it will still be underwhelming when compaired to any western targeting pod. Only gen 1 thermals I believe.

TIALD 400 Pod on all British aircraft is only Gen 1. Depsite there being an option for a Gen 1.5 (not true gen 2, but not far off) option available in the form of the TIALD 500. Or the Gen 3 pods like SNIPER.

and the litening II is only currently Gen 1 in game despite being Gen 2 IRL (I think that is being fixed)

Litening II is gen 2 on some plan es like F-16C but appears to still be gen 1 on Tornado IDS ASSTA1 (idk about others since I dont have them)

tld or sapsan-e is 3 gen pod? on mig29smt

Ah that’ll be it then. As it was the Tornado that was being discussed. Just assumed it was all and that Gaijin would just straight C&P the same T-Pod over to different aircraft. So that is kinda funny they went out of the way to give Germany a nerfed version

reported bug and acknowledged, supposed to be fixed soonish

That’s certainly true, but it’s also worth remembering that these pods still have good 'look around ’ capabilities, while the Khod pod can only see forward, just like the targeting pods on the A-7. In that sense it’s still inferior, also it’s probably gonna be at a high battle rating, where other planes have far better pods. Hell the JH-7A is gonna eat the Mig -27K’s lunch, with it’s ability to carry 4XKh-29’s and a nice gen 2 targeting pod(confirmed next update)

Unfortunately. This is one area where the Soviet will always be inferior. Air superiority was never their battle plan. Even now in Ukraine, air power is not something they’ve exploited (even though they could have) I think in WT, Soviets will always have the weakest Jet based CAS power. Though that is made up for in having the best Helis in the game and some of the strongest SPAA.

Their are some possibilities, but they seem to all be a ways into the future. As people have pointed out with the SMT, it can theoretically carry a modern Russian Gen 3 targeting pod, and so can some other jets in the Russian air force like the Su-30/35 and Mig-35. Outside of that tho, the Russians will be limited compaired to the west. Even the Su-34 only has a Mig-27K style camera

It’s too costly for russia to put such a risk on their airforce numbers. They cannot recover as easy as they can on their ground forces. People think this is like iraq when it’s clearly not, much closer to vietnam if anything
