So is the Su-33 going to get it’s anti-ship and anti-radiation missiles anytime soon? or any air to ground missiles at all?
Sadly it didn’t have any.
It’s sort of a reason the Mig 29K was added so the Naval side of Russian air had anti ship and anti-radiation capabilities. The Su-33 theoretically could carry them, but never did in actual practice. Plus, you would make the new Mig 29K sort of a useless addition.
I understand not giving it everything the Mig 29K has but it does have the capability of carrying anti-ship and anti-radiation missiles. I mean the US has both the Harrier and the F-18 with naval fleet protection/anti-radiation capabilities. It was just a thought. I’m currently playing through Russia’s tech tree and just finally bought the Su-33 even though I’ve had it unlocked for a long time. I thought it could be fun to use in nuclear thunder that’s all…
as he said, the Su 33 could carry it, but if it never carried it in real life, it wont be added. And please, dont use the Su33 for grinding if your like Rank 3/4/5, reserch progress would be not effiecient
Yeah it can carry them, but does not have the avionics, radar, nor the targeting system upgrades to fire and guide them. The Su-33 was designed and built as a pure fleet defense fighter, like the F-14A.
I’m not…I’m unlocking rank VI…I have the Mig-23ML because I’m a wallet warrior. Mostly because I’m retired and my sons buy me vehicles for things like birthday/Christmas…Lol. I currently have 4 nations unlocked {aviation). US, Great Britain, China, and Israel. Working on ground in US, China, Russia…
The Su-33 could carry KH-41 what the suggestion moderator even talked about in the Su-33 suggestion.
I also found a website that listed all of the missiles that the Su-33 could carry, I am not sure if its trustable, but the Su-33 could for sure carry KH-41 and KH-61

Got the armament picture from: Sukhoi Su-33 and Su-33UB Flanker D / Shenyang J-15 Flanker D
Russian doctrine was ship launched ASSM the Su-33 were to gain control of the air. I dont think they carried anything more than some rockets and dumb bombs.
I mean there are pictures of the Su-33 with the KH-41 on the center weapon station, but those are at expos or airshows.
With the KH-41 being 4150kg, you’d have limited extra space in weapons before you’d need to carry less fuel or risk damaging the gear or airframe on carrier landings.
The J-15 is the only one to my knowledge carrying anti-ship weapons and that is in the form of the YJ-15. It does help that the Chinese are building conventional catapult launched carriers now which gives them much more flexibility in what weight they can put on their aircraft.
If you would have gone to the suggestion mods article you would have seen a picture with a Su-33 carrying the KH-41 on the carrier with full air-to-air missile paiload. And I mean if a plane is meant for a carrier then it shouldn’t really hold much fuel in the first place.

The missile is literally not mounted in either of those on deck photos.

Missile body nor rear section visible at all like it should.

Again, no missile body or rear section visible
You’re acting like there isn’t enough evidence to already support the fact it can carry it, every article you read online mentions the Su-33 carrying KH-41. Hell even if a mod has confiremed it. Also on of the pictures you can clearly see the KH-41, Su-33 dosen’t carry anykind of extra fueltanks or bigger bombs than that. And why would they just dispaly a KH-41 next to a Su-33? Also heres another picture where you can clearly see it.

Again, there is no photo of it on a carrier deck. Stop showing me photos of it on a land based runway (because we already know it fits on the airframe). That area you highlighted in red is not the KH41. It is the launch rail for the missile below. If the KH41 was equipped in that photo you’d see the nose of the missle here
