This report using British documents detailed the guidance delay of the AIM-120 and recommended nerfing the guidance delay, i.e. preventing the AIM-120 from maneuvering right away after launch further hindering the off-bore performance.
Why make a baseless claim that there’s no british document on the AIM-120’s maneuverability?
It did because it didn’t have to make much adjustments, you could’ve done that exact shot with an aim-120a/b/c, aswell
A derby/darter could’ve hit that with enough energy, energy come into play when the missile has to make a bunch of corrections to hit and that shit it didn’t, the more corrections the more energy bleed
First of all the guidance delay should only apply to the recessed under fuselage mounted missiles we have videos of rail mount amraam’s tracking off the rails.
Second and most important thats not even close to the main problem with aim120, have you actually looked how little they pull?
I mean, feel free to make reports on this. The brits used historical documents. There’s nothing inherently wrong with the performance of the AIM-120 so long as it is historical, and on the other hand there’s no problem with the AIM-120 being buffed in the future if other historical documents are submitted.
The AIM-120’s maneuverability got nerfed after its introduction into the game after some historical reports on its ranges were made. It is very plausible that the nerf to the maneuverability was based on these British documents. Again, there’s no issue if it’s historical.
You have been comparing it with aim-120’s this whole time so I did the same, I don’t know what to tell you but an aim-120 would’ve hit with the same if not a bit more energy due to less pull in that exact scenario
You guys are the ones claiming that the missile has no energy, then after I show the missile has enough energy to hit a target 25kms out after being fired from a Notch after that it’s a problem cause the guy didn’t go defensive and that’s the first shift then after that it’s about other missiles also being able to hit that shot and that’s another.
I’m done with this entire thread cause there is complete and utter inability of engaging in honest discussion.
The British documents had nothing of the sort sto making assumptions, the maneuverability was nerfed purely because of “balance” as when they fixed the range they likely thought it would be unbalanced.
I was alone and there were 3 EF2000s hunting me, so I took a few days off from playing, then I went back to playing with a Su-27SM in Afghanistan (I hate that map in SIM) and I got massacred again, in my defense it was 2 AM.
I’m responding reasonably, the “complaints” (which I’ve made none) are that the missile looses too much energy having to maneuver, in your clips sake the missile only made the initial 45°-60° pull and flew straight, which any missile could’ve done. Therefore your argument about the 120 lacking in THAT exact scenario in pretty null as it would’ve hit with the same if not more energy due to less pull and then flying straight
There we go, again you’re being a hypocrite for asking someone to not make an assumption whilst doing so in the same post regardless if you believe that your assumption has greater likelihood.
