I know that’s why I said all the planes with AESA/PESA and an ability to move it via gimbal have a large advantage. I do not think they should be nerfed because that’s how they work in real life I just think something should be added to other planes/nations to give them an edge in another area where possible. I hate the rotating meta of certain planes or nations swapping who is stomping because they have something more dominant. Nothing should be gravely ahistorically nerfed, but it is a video game after all things need to be somewhat balanced as best as possible. (Edit spelling)

Try using it in game and you’ll see why AIM-120 is considered bad. Anyone paying attention has ample time to defend from range, and the missile can’t pull enough to be impossible to defeat at close range. R-77-1 easily wins every battle even from slower Su-30SM with faster TTI, superior pull and actual HOBS performance.
It ranks second in close-to-medium range, meaning it is not perfect. Most of you focus only on a single point instead of providing a comprehensive evaluation

i can say, as both su30sm and german ef2000, the c-5 is mid at bvr, i might using it wrong but its just cant do the job.

We fired our missiles almost side-by-side, your C-5s were the problem 100%, not you (no way it was you because I’m shit at BVR and my R-77-1s scored kills nonetheless)

Dude, i have more battles with AIM-120s using only Eurofighters and F-15s than you do, so what are we talking about?

Other nations hate it because kh38 made grb matches an inferno, its the same for the rafale making the same in the air for +1 year, remember that no one other than russia had an spaa that could hold it. Gripen E still doesnt have its model ready, J10C already is weakened as it doesnt have its true engine, new missiles and doesnt have a mecanical arm…

I love both missiles and I can kind of agree that the r-77-1 is better, if you climb with the su-30sm and get speed you can get consistent hits at 30-40 km and be able to dodge most euro and f-15e spam but I can say the aim-120c is still a great missile at medium ranges it just lacks the close range pull but makes up for it in consistent energy through its flight profile
