Su-30SM needs better engines

After excessive testing… the Su-30SM can barely even keep up with an F-4E Phantom in a dogfight

The engines not only do not produce enough thrust for the aircraft to be competitive, the excessive drag also significantly hampers your flight performance

You may say “but you can disable the AOA limiter” and that is true but even then you stand no chance with aircraft like the Eurofighter and Rafale not only outturning you but also maintaining a lot more energy so you will just lose the fight

I would make a poll but most people will vote against this without having played with or against this aircraft so it would be quite unfair.

Skill issue.

Aswell as theres no evidence of this engine on su-30sm. It doesnt even have TVC

if you can’t win F-4E in dogfight using Su-30SM, it’s not bad engines, it’s bad pilot with low skill
and EFT and Rafale are lighter then Su-30SM, that is heavy fighter (what did you expect?)

I have both fought against an F4E and with it and the Su-30 only has a marginal advantage over it

Also I didn’t say lose, I said barely keep up
The Su-30 will win most of the fights against an F-4E but it will be close

Go try it yourself :)
Against an F-5E it’s not even close, the F-5 can run circles around it

It was never and never will be fitted with AL-31FM-1 engines.

Sure it does.

Are you holding S all the time?

Mind testing it?

make a bug report Community Bug Reporting System

Nope
Maintaining energy at ~500-600kph until I can take the shot

You started this thread with talking about engine that was never used on Su-30SM.
Maybe you know better, which sources you must use?
