Battery life for BVRAAMs is a major issue.
Because the entire reason for the creation of the Meteor missile was to replace the AIM-120 for countries that import it from the USA to instead have a domestically made and improved missile.
it it became a worse missile i highly doubt that it would have been put into service.

Created custom mission for dogfight training in SB regime.
I can barely overturn F-4F (stock). Tried to fight in real SB - switched back to custom missions.
Looks like Su-27SM is even heavier, so I will not play it either.

Especially since many forget that it would not have faced a 90s F-16.
the su27 will objectively lose to f-4e in an air RB scenario, mostly because the f-4e’s turn rate is tighter in the one circle, and has more acceleration at lower speeds. In a true 1v1 with both planes on 10 minutes of fuel the su27 will waddle into killing the phantom.
Su27 will literaly fall off the sky the moment you make a single roll, it is super inconsistent to keep altitude during a rate fight. All in all it’s a terrible plane, only winning under certain scenarios against a much worse plane; that is the f-18.
If it can’t beat an F-4 it is not beating an F/A-18.
The Su-33 I have will beat an F-4 easilly not sure why a lighter Flanker would struggle?
