Yes, but it will only continue to get worse and worse if we keep putting export vehicles into enemy teams.
Some N001s dumped the Cassegrain antenna I think as they made improvements, and they reverted N001 to the original planar array antenna which has vertical electronic scan and horizontal mechanical scan. I think this is the same technology used for N-011 RLSU-27 radar.
the radar on the 27’s dont have fluid gimble control like NATO radars. its measured in sections and has a higher read rate than ones with otherwise. In game it makes very little difference as the time to display on the later russian radars is so long compared to the f15’s. you should really only be launching and tracking with tws from 20kms or so anyway so if you start notching and send the missile off-bore from the inside edges of those outer sections of TWS, it works better.
If you don’t already have those mapped, you are playing Sim with a hand tied behind your back anyway. Sounds like a you problem
Not everyone wants to constantly adjust the height and direction that my radar is facing. If I wanted to do that I would just go play DCS.
Then your efficiency will suffer for it, if you want to be lazy and have the game hold your hand. Again this is the definition of a you problem.
I get 3:1 games in sim all the time using US/RU planes. Your assumption that my “efficiency” is suffering from it is incorrect. I apologize that everyone does not play the same as you, but it seems as though you are the only one who thinks this feature is good. Obviously this is not just a “you problem.” As well, in ARB you do not have the time to manually slew to a target in the quick paced battles that you are in. If you can do it the congrats; give yourself a narcissistic pat on the back, but not everyone can, nor wants to.
What is the point of this topic? What should Gaijin do if the Russians made (and still make) bad radars?
Add Flankers with good radars? There are several variants with early N011 BARS radars as well as ZHUK radar systems similar to the one on the SMT. But no, we get a platform with just another MECH radar unit that is inferior to everything else.
AFAIK Zhuk was only proposed for Flankers, so only early N011 Slotted Array. But i have doubts about FM of Su-27M
Look up the ZHUK-27 and ZHUK-MF
MF means that it ESA radar, too ewrly for ESA radars.
I believe that was the MFE, but some sources state they are the same export,) but other say they are different (upgraded export). The ZHUK-27 is still viable
F-Ф-Фазированная-Phased (Array)
E-Export
Fair enough; more likely that they would add the Planar array N011 on a Su-27M or other platform.
There also is differences between the versions of the N011M because it seems like one has a slotted planar array similar to the Zhuk before turning PESA.
M on end of index means Modernized. Non modernized is planar array, modernized is pesa.
I’m just grasping at straws because there is not barely any more radars left before RU transitioned to PESA and TVC aircraft.
Variants of MiG-29 with 8 hardpoints, and mechanical radars?
Would be cool, but I really prefer the SU-27 FM
Honestly if this is added, please make it a toggle. I despise automatic TWS slewing and this, whether bug or not, is what makes me prefer the flanker over other top tier jets.
