SU-27 Radar (N001V/N001VEP)TWS scan not Slewing to Soft Lock?

Can anyone explain to me why Gaijin decided to make it to where the TWS scan on the SU-27S/SM needs to be manually adjusted to follow moving targets? The TWS, unlike on other radar sets, requires the keybind to move up-down and side-side to maintain a soft lock and missile guidance (FOX-3s.) I feel like this is a somewhat unjustified nerf to not just the plane, but the play style it requires. In most situations planes like this require quick response times and using even more tedious keybinds to adjust the radar search zone, not just horizontally, but also vertically, is nearly impossible to do.

cuz the su 27sm is op bruh

Especially in sim, where I already have enough keybinds to deal with in my HOTAS, I don’t need to have radar scan slew to work with.

@Malekitth Do you agree?

Completely, though I haven’t played SIM in a while, I agree.

At least I have a good hotas with more buttons than I need, but most people have simple hotas with few buttons and no x/y axis capable knobs on the stick.

I genuinely have no idea why the made this only with the SU-27 and not anything else.

Russian Bias

It’s also horrible in RB as well, this lack of auto steering

Huh? Is this a thing in automatic mode? I really do suggest using manual slewing, it holds all types of lock better

This is thing in automatic mode. Some people don’t like manual mode and prefer cyclic switching of radar targets.

Probably a bug then. Though, I barely remember how the manual searching worked

It’s not a bug, it’s intentional by gaijin. Same in mig-29A

It’s so odd of a feature to have

I added a video for better showcase of what i’m talking about.

I believe that’s how early Russian TWS functioned, it isn’t the same as the Auto-TWS found in most western radar sets.

You’re just guessing. But you don’t have any information. The game is not based on assumptions

Right but the devs have arrived at the same conclusion, hence why they’re all like that.

How did they come to this?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don’t have access to their resources.

@BBCRF so Yak-141 has this technology but Su-27SM from later date doesn’t? OK

The Yak-141 uses a slit antenna array. And the Su-27 Cassegrain antenna
