SU-27 Radar (N001V/N001VEP)TWS scan not Slewing to Soft Lock?

Do they not feel like this negatively affects the gameplay of these aircraft? Without proper keybinds and precise, tedious movement you can’t properly crank to avoid FOX-3s and engage in the current BVR meta in a fun an/or meaningful way. I, personally, feel as though this is one of those items that is TOO realistic to add to a game like Warthunder and should exist only in Simulator Battles or not at all. Is there any way at all you could find dev reasoning?

The Dev’s comments on the subject;

This is how TWS works on Su-27 and MiG-29. Without automatic tracking of selected target.

I understand your perspective in terms of balance, some stuff in game is simplified for “in-game conventions” but this doesn’t appear to be one of them.

It also helps to differentiate the older Cassegrain radars to the more modern sets found on the 29SMT and the 141.

Not having it slew on soft-lock is bad enough, the main issue however is it’s extremely slow refresh rate, along with the new scan-pattern change (for no apparent reason…) which made it incredibly inconsistent at acquiring headings in TWS, as it sometimes takes ~twice as long to refresh now.

These 2 reports would massively increase the effectiveness of the SU27 radar. It would still be nowhere close to the western radars in the game, however it would make it actually usable for engagements, especially in TWS in situations where you don’t have a full 6-13 seconds to spare to acquire and receive heading of an enemy. Often by the time you’ve acquired the guy on TWS, and gotten his heading, he will have had enough time to re-engage, reacquire, launched his missile, and then gone defensive again, it’s quite ridiculous. For engagements below 50km, I would literally take the Viggen radar found at 11.0 over the Flanker one at 13.7 any day.

So the Flanker series won’t have a proper TWS system implemented on their radar sets until later platforms with the N011 BARS (which is not going to come for a while unless gaijin finds data on the Mechanical version of the BARS) like the SU-30SM/SU-35 (Pre Irbis-E?) How does gaijin justify keeping these aircraft at a similar BR with aircraft with double or triple the radar capabilities?

I’d say it’s far more than that even… Especially when you look at the Gripen, Harrier and F16C radar

I feel like the decompression should have accounted for this.

İn this case what gaijin should have done is make modern fox-3 carriers with modern radars and good flight models 14.0 or make su-27sm 13.3 with how lackluster su-27 is.

İt wouldn’t matter for the Su-27 because almost every match at 13.3 is 13.7 matchmaker anyways.

But this would be a nice gesture and acknowledgement of it’s technical inferiority at literally everything by gaijin

Especially if they want to keep the features of each vehicle authentic instead of streamlining some stuff

Gaijin doesn’t even care about the Su-27SM enough. They see inferior missile boat with a flight model of a leaf and a radar equivalent to a flashlight and think that it is good enough to face aircraft with UFO FMs and radars that put the eye of Sauron to shame.

Early n011 is slotted array, not pesa

I know, that is why I mentioned

The N011M original design is a Slotted Array, similar to the Zhuk-M. The second version of the N011M, the Bars-R is PESA.

The N011 originally, in its earliest variants, used a Planar Array but I can’t find a lick of information about the original N011 though.

We could theoretically get the Su-30MK, and give it to RU as an Indonesian or the demonstrator aircraft.

İf it’s made in a Russian factory it’s Russian. Period. So it can easily be added

I mean that’s how I would like it to be, as the could add the Su-30MK to both RU and CN as a balancer against Blufor.

If China used it sure. If they did not then they should not get it. But there is literally no reason to not add it to Russia.

As it is “made in Russia”

They did get it. The main reason the 30MK was built was as a demo and for export.

It’s gaijin; they didn’t add the MiG-21 BISON to RU even though it has the RU demo skin.

I hate that. I really hate it. Also hate the T-90 bishma. İt’s BS

If they continue to add Indian vehicles they are going to destroy the asymmetrical gameplay that makes warthunder atleast a little bit okay.
