There should be a game mode where you can peacefully grind this kind of planes because in Air Realistic Battles is impossible due to some reasons:
Su-25, A-10 and similar are so slow, they can’t go further 950 km/h without risking a wing rip, also at being so slow the matches you are playing can end in 2 possibles ends:
. You die by a radar missile or some guy that shoot you from above and game couldn’t spot him in time to make evasive maneuvers (since CAS have the turn time of an anvil, you can be outturn by anything) before even traveling half of the map
. You finally made into the battle area but match is over whether your team has been obliterated and you are the last poor thing alive or enemy was destroyed and you did 0 points.
As a plane meant for CAS you do not have good AAM (Long range) yes you can defend yourself from some aggresors with your all-aspect FOX-2s but most of them are easy to flare and you do not have a radar to help you lock the target, so your only option are bases or ground targets; now bases… since people use fighters as bombers you get no bases, so all its left are ground targets BUT ground targets like Medium Tanks gives a ridiculous low ammount of RP and SL, your only option are Light Pillboxes BUT not all maps have Light Pilboxes, there are Obus and AAAs that also gives a ridiculous low reward.
You do not have Air spawn, so you have 0 advantage.
And it is not like people say “I’m gonna leave this guy alone, he must be suffering to grind that thing” They see you and you are free RP and SL for them.
CAS like this cannot perform at high BR, Mid Top Tier.
It would be nice if there could be added to the game a game mode where Helicopters and CAS can join only to kill enemy NPC Ground Targets, where they can peacefully grind its helicopter and CAS and not losing SL and RP/SL Boosters where you did less than 100 pts per match…
I agree. Slow attackers should just be moved closer to the battlefeild (airRB) since they have no game presence and arrive when the match has been decided.
Now, i KNOW that the attackers are not fighters. but the fact they have undesireable aspects is already enough of a hinderance in a match. arriving 5 minutes after the fighters aplifies this even more.
Gaijin also said about moving A10s, SU25, A6 and the rest forwards last year in a post. No idea what happened to that idea it just got forgotten about and never talked again. Typical?
but in SIM have a total different control of planes where playing with mouse and keyboard becomes uncomfortable and matches last forever to get the reward.
It can’t come soon enough. Here’s hoping they add to it, to take advantage of the decades of new content that’s come into the game since EC was first made. Helicopters, ground based RADARs and AWACs, refueling tankers, ground attack objectives with SAMs that require standoff range ordinance to engage, etc.
I think we are at a point with the top tier jets that taking a pure A2A loadout borders on absurdity, when was the last time a jet flew a sortie with 10 or more AAM? Their capability to carry mixed ordnance for defense and ground attack is completely wasted in RB. That is why I enjoy sim, to strike the battles or convoys and also be able to engage anyone I encounter along the way.
If there were secondary objectives that conveyed an actual gameplay advantages for the team like destroying radar/sam sites and encouraged at least a few people on the team to equip ordnance for it I think it would be good for the mode
I agree with your point except these two. At least for the a10.
The a10 turns very well and can 1v1 most jets pretty well. You also get a great cannon that works very well for ground pounding.
Of course the slow speed means the match might end before you get some good runs. But in decent length matches, you can rack up 2k+ score pretty consistently
Yeah, ASB has needed a total overhaul and massive expansion for the past 3-4+ years. Let alone just a new map.
and yeah, In the Typhoon im pretty much always carrying some PW4s to drop on targets, but the maps are just too small and there is a distinct lack of decent targets. Let alone for a dedicated mud mover like the GR4
Ok I did some testing and managed to find the oscillation issues you speak of. I found that the best way to avoid them is to avoid redline speeds; 60-80% throttle plus a ~10-15% negative trim made for very smooth flying below 1000 kph. Once the plane starts shaking, you’re more liable to oscillate. Above 950 kph you’ll have to use closer to 20% negative trim and definitely less throttle, or you’ll easily redline. Hope this helps!
Addendum: The top speed shown on the statcard seems to be the top easy/safe flying speed, more than the actual top speed in a straight line.
