Su-24M

Does the EOCM (КОЭП) system work on the Su-24M? If it does, how can it be tested? If it doesn’t, why not? Is it a bug? I was flying with a friend, and we tested it, but couldn’t notice any difference when firing air-to-air missiles at this aircraft.

yes the MAW works on the Su-24M

might be becasue you dont have the modification researched

because it is a MAW (missile approach warning) it dosent do anything to the missile it will just alert you about a missile being launched at you

and at most can automatically dispense countermeasures for you

Thanks for the reply! But I’m asking about something else. It’s not MAW, it’s IRCM (I will try edit the original post). The Su-24 doesn’t have a specific modification for this. However, when the plane was announced, the developers said it would have this feature.

Here’s an example of a similar module on the Ka-29 helicopter.

the Su-24M dosent have IRCM

the “ball” you see ontop of the aircraft is the MAW sensor

that is the EOCM (electro optical countermeasure)

it will detect a missile and then dispense flares/chaff
(if you activate that ofc)

Ok, I guess the devs on the stream just made a mistake — that’s possible. The design, though, looks much more like IRCM than a regular MAW sensor.

its a maw sensor that can also be found on some of the Su-27M prototypes

you can see it on this picture

it wouldnt really make sense mounting an IRCM system on an air supiriority jet
