Stupid clouds

I have just played a match where the cloud level was at 0.35KMs i couldnt see the battlefield at the highest peak it is quite literally unplayable, not only is it obnoxiously impairing st ground but also air battles as i genuinely cannot see below 2000m this is a literal buff to the f14s unless you dont want to admit that

These clouds even penetrate the cockpit and dim the lighting :)

Have also had instances where clouds render differently for different people. Been in situations where I have been completely blind in a giant cloud yet the enemy shooting at me had me in clear air, and had the same thing reported to me by enemies Ive killed in chat once or twice.

They at the very least need to get that part sorted ASAP.

It is definitely especially annoying in grb, but I think they increased the chances of them as a bit of a soft nerf to CAS.

The whole point is to keep CAS unplayble and its good thing. In some matches you have clear skys on others you dont. This would be even better of some airplnes would get there radars working fro ground targeting and flying. More that please.

Meh, cloud are just a dumb way of doing it. Warthunder would be better off with all clouds 10k ft+

Yet there are low flying Su25/Su39 and helis easily getting kills. Coulds didn’t solve anything.

fog needs to be removed from air rb

Cockpit lighting barely helps.

Whole map was like this.

Lobbies seem to be stuck on “Evening” and “Cloudy” these past few days in sim.

Even in planes with some semblence of a virtual horizon (P-51s kind of have one), it’s super disorienting.

I played few sim battles saturday, few battles sunday but only one battle with these heavy clouds.

welcome to war grinder.
there on plane you will suffer from impenetrable clounds, while tankers have weather off by default.

Was mostly around EU evenings at BR 4.0 compatible lobbies for me.

If I’m to give my honest opinion, I think there should be more heavy clouds and fog. In air battles I as a bomber love to see high clouds (I play British so clouds are the nearest thing to night) and when there’s fog, fighters are simply just forced higher up in a sudden change in the situation (yes it’s happened to me before). As for ground battles, if planes can’t see the ground, then the SPAA are likely to not see the plane as well so it’s all kind of balanced out. I’m only specifically speaking for rank 2-3 though.

then you should watch the server replay and check if those guys are not cheating. Its quite easy to spot cheaters under this cirumstances.

had thunderstorm clouds… at 3,000 ft … wtf

These clouds is beautiful but, it makes really awful gameplay.

Are you an old man per chance?

(Surprised no-one had thrown that out to be honest…)

I agree and I suggested low cloud on certain games years ago to counter what I saw as CAS overkill back then.I also think if implemented correctly its one of the few ways to shake of a bandit on your six (I can believe I actually said that)

I think maybe the issue is cloud not rendering consistently overall not its existence.
I liked the old fog in GRB on occasion too and the player bass whined that one away and we don’t seem to get it now. It was just nice for one game in ten maybe, same as having the sun in your face.

Yeah, CAS is getting spammed too much, and I worship the matches where low clouds makes only the worthy CAS players try to revenge bomb.

I like clouds…
-It is realistic to get lost in the clouds to opponents on a six…
-You can enjoy the game while looking from the cockpit…
-Clouds suppress CAS in aerial ARB, which should primarily belong to GRB, only marginally should have an effect in ARB…

  • in ARB the target type should be for bombers and fighter-bombers only
  • newcomers to the game, I would really save the clouds, about until br 4.0 …
… and I would like night air battles…

I like low cloud matches aswell since they make countering SPAA far easier whilst having little to no effect on bombing tanks. I just hate that it ruins dogfights

Desert clouds however will never make sense
