*this post might be outdated# since I wanna keep track of all the things that are inaccurate currently ingame and don’t plan to throughly fact-check minor things (like some part of a plane’s landing gear missing)
Radar (not missile) datalink is not modelled correctly, you are supposed to be able to fire multiple sarh guided missiles at multiple targets, but in game, to fire a fox 1 you need a radar lock even if your radar does have Datalink.
IR-guided agm’s/atgm’s are missmodelled since they completely ignore flares/ircm (excluding ldircm on z10me, mi28nm and ah64e), which makes playing helicopters a nightmare. Also, IR guided missiles tend to guide themselves to any part of a tank (even the tracks and the corner of a tank) which is a problem with missiles that have low HE, aka spikes, trigat, pars LR, etc.
Ldircm is supposed to have an area of effect, but it just clips through the heli to intercept missiles, which is most noticeable on the mi28nm, since the ircm is mounted on the bottom of the heli but can intercept missiles right above it.
era is modelled horribly which nerfs some tanks and makes others not very good because the era actually provides less protection than it advertised even against singe-charge heat munitions and multiple layers of ERA do not stack protection values. For example, oplot since it relies heavily on era IRL but in game it provides virtually no protection (single era block has 140 mm of kinetic and 210mm of chemical protection but three layers of it ingame has 200mm and 600mm respectively, the math doesn’t add up, and yes, the protection values should stack up directly as they do IRL). The era mismodelling nerfs russian, chinese tanks, the challenger 1/2’s, Abrams sep v2’s, etc.
Helicopter/CAS and AA dynamic has to be fixed since CAS is blatantly overpowered up to like 8.0 and mostly awful (with exceptions) above 8.0.
Also, why are helicopters with spikes at 13.0? Spikes are borderline useless and the same helis do not have ldircm, meaning they’re practically useless in general.
Helicopter grind has to be fixed as well: the RP requirement to research helicopters climbs from around 150k RP to ~360k RP in (I think) every nation even if two helicopters are of the same rank and br (for example in Britain, 8.7 helicopters: the scout and Wessex).
Also about helicopters: there’s no way the the modifications for helis cost up to 50k research points (many of those modifications makes the helicopters simply playable in grb) but on a good match you get up to 3k RP. The helicopter grind should not be this long in grb because, to be honest, the only reason people play helicopter pve is because some helicopters are unplayable at stock.
A lot of munitions are missmodelled: kh25ml’s are supposed to be tandem-heat because they were made against bunkers, agm65’s are missing HE filler, some shells like russian 100mm apfsds are missing penetration, S25O’s are supposed to have a radio fuze (they were made to detonate above ground to deal more damage to infantry), r73e is supposed to be better than the r73 but ingame they’re identical, etc.
IR tracking helicopters/planes with some AA’s (which give you a range indicator) and tanks with IR tracking should give a laser warning since the only reason it gives the range is because IR tracking automatically laser range finds the heli/plane.
AA radars sometimes are able to track through foliage like trees, which is not realistic, radars don’t magically track through everything that isn’t the ground.
Also, something has to be done with AA spam since if you’re not playing broken CAS, sometimes there is literally nothing you can do against 5 aa’s at once. They probably should increase aa spawn cost so people don’t spawn it in as a last ditch effort cause they had like 80sp.
As well, the mechanic where you are given free tanks to spawn has to be fixed since no one is playing stock tanks with heat and it only promotes aa spam, meaning that once the first team spawns in a cas plane, if the enemy teams decides to AA spam, the enemy team is doomed to lose since they’ll have much less tanks and the aa’s will be free sp for the first team. And this indirectly makes CAS OP whilst directly CAS is for the most part not very good at this point in time.
Shell shatter mechanic should be revised because it feels like it’s only in the game because gaijin forgot to remove it.
Hullbreak should be added back because there’s no way a panzer IV for example can bounce a kv2, or a jagdpanther be non-penned by 155mm aphe. After such hits, half the enemy tank wouldn’t even exist anymore irl.
Fuel explosion is only realistic for tanks with gasoline (like ww2 German tanks) because diesel explodes only in very specific circumstances like in an engine. You can Google russian tanks getting hit in the fuel tank and you’ll see that it always gets set on fire instead of exploding (sometimes burning diesel gets spit out because of the impact of the shell, but still doesn’t explode)
One last point: APS systems should be considered as slight upgrades, NOT major ones, because why is the techtree t72b3 at 11.3 (post br changes) but the one with APS is 12.3, even though the APS is only useful once every few matches. Same thing with other tanks like merkava.
A good touch would be to add more tanks/planes/helis to nations like italy, Sweden, Israel and especially Japan since those techtrees are seriously devoid of lineups at some brs.
Miscellaneous things like br changes:
Fix the f104s.asa: just replace it with the f104s.asa/m and put in at 12.3 since it gets aim9L/I’s (aim9L with aim9M seeker)
Aim9L/I-1 is supposed to have a smokeless rotor
Move the vt4a1 to 12.3/12.0 because it’s blatantly worse the the ztz99a/wz1001 e(LCT)
T72b3a should not have this much of a br difference between the regular t72b3
Why is the mbt2000 at 11.7? It was an arguably worse ztz99-II/III because it was less consistent to play but still for moved up by 0.7 br
There’s no reason the french squadron f16 is at 12.7 with 4 magic 2’s and 2 aim9m’s, should be at least 13.0
Ariete AMV is 12.3 while it’s subjectively worse than its 11.7 counterparts
I see no reason the challenger 3TD is 12.0 and not 11.7 because it’s comparable to a challenger 2 (more pen, worse reload)
Vt4 (the 12.0 one) in my opinion should be at the same br as the t72b3 and not 12.0.
In the tornado ids mlu ret8, one gmss guided gbu54 clips into a gbu39 pod
The in-game x-ray (in the left corner of the screen) of the t55am1 is screwed because the whole hull moves with the turret’s rotation
Aim9m’s on the f5th refuse to work for some reason (might be a personal problem but they work for me on every other plane)
Fa18e is missing part of the front landing gear.
Imo the begleitpanzer 57 should be 9.3 again but that might be personal bias because that’s my favourite tank so take this with a grain of salt
The xm247 and pgz 09 should be moved up because having shells with radio fuze at 9.0 and no tracers is not fair one bit
