Strv 123A incoming to Swedish military!

Gonna be interesting to see whether 123A and 123B will sport the RPAP/E-tech armor of the 2A7V tbh, cus if so, that’s Gaijin’s argument of “Sweden just developed a new armor package and it’s clearly better than what the 2A7V has” out of the window, and then they will have to either make the 123A/B less armored than the 122s, or they will have to actually buff the 2A7V to 122/123 levels of armor.

Since all the 123 version ordered so far are going to be 2A8’s i don’t think anything on them can be used to argue anything for the 2A7’s case.

2A8s will use the exact same armor as 2A7Vs… there simply isn’t anything newer/better.

Still to see anything mentioning the new tanks will have any upgraded armor

the time difference between 2a7V and 2a8 is quite small compared to the time between the other variants
The only improvement armor wise of the 2a8 over the 2a7v is roof armor and the APS system.
It literaly was already said as well that the 2a8 is based on the 2a7hu / 2a7NO that was planned.
But they decided to put it as a new step with the additional things it gets like APS and the next generation Round. Yet to be seen if we get a new engine on top

If they stay with the C-technology and MEXAS-H (which AREN’T even in production anymore) then I’d cry for the Swedish Army, as they’d still be stuck in 1990s armor technology wise whereas everyone else is 20 years into the future…

u did not understand what he said did you? that was exactly his point. That it means strv122 would ahve to get worse armor or german one needs to get buffed

Why should they be nerfed though?

So RPAP base armor and E-technology add-ons pretty much.

Well, so 123s will either have to be nerfed if thats the case, or 2A7V and 2A7HU will have to be buffed.

Can be APS, extra armor or maybe both.
As they have ordered Iron Fist for their CV-90s they could end up with that on the new tanks as well.

Think the new Norwegian tanks will just have the Trophy and not extra armor

2a7v has the same armor as the 2a8
Strv122s has right now in the game better armor then the 2a7v

Sweden is getting german 2a8s same configuration, meaning they are acknowledging the german Armor is better or at least equal since they arent changing it.

As a result the 2a7v armor either needs to be buffed, or strv122 armor needs to be nerfed to 2a7v standards

No, 122s could stay as they are, it’s the 123A & 123B that would need to be modeled the exact same way armor wise as 2A7V and 2A7HU have, rather than the way 122s are modeled.

Orrr Gaijin could just acknowledge that 2A7Vs and 2A7HUs armor shouldn’t be inferior to the 122s in any way.

italy got canned out of their 2a8 order cause of reasons like that, good luck with that

I wonder if it can be used as an argument and/or source for the armor upgrade for the 2A7V. I don’t personally know enough (or have good enough sources) to connect the two dots well enough for Gaijins liking. But what we do now (almost certainly) know is that the 2A8 has better armor than the strv122.

Still no need to nerf the swedish tanks, better off buffing the 2A7

no, sadly not likely as it’s been widely discussed on Swedish military forums that the APS was not purchased and many are disappointed by it.

2a7v sources say their frontal chassis armor is equal in armor values to the arrowheads.
It just doesnt name hard numbers and gajin doesnt like that and as a result wont implement it

just saying their options. Either way 2a7v is either hard underperforming or strv122s hard overperforming

So does the 2A7V, but Gaijin has used a series of argument based on bad faith and grasping at straws to keep its armor underperforming. My point is that as 2A8s will have the same armor packages as the 2A7V currently does, so they will have to admit to being wrong and buff the 2A7V, cause if they don’t, they will simply be called out on it (and Smin is not gonna hear the end of it).
