It’s armour is worthless at 9.0 and 8.7. it’s is entirely immobilised on any frontal penetration. it can only aim where it’s driving. it’s so slow in hull aiming mode that you need to switch it off to drive, then back on to fire, and hull aiming still bugs out and goes from bad to unusable depending on the gradient of the slope you’re on. the gun is weaker than it should be, either due to gaijin’s endless retardation or their endless bias it’s rounds have the ballistics of an L/52 gun despite being L/62, over a metre longer.
If anything it probably have been moved down to 8.3. the 103A isn’t too bad at it’s BR because it’s armour sometimes does something. the 103C is really not good to play.
APDS will still easily go through it’s frontal armour.
Some of those tanks can still fight Strv-103C regardless of it moving up or not, though.
The armor on it is worthless anyways like @Hannarr said, I don’t see the point of it being moved to 9.0.
Tanks at 8.7 can barely fight it. And you want to let it fight unstabilized tanks firing aphe at 7.7.
It was moved to 9.0 because everything that was 7.7 before got moved up in decompression, so now the strv 103C is moving back into its usual group.
Its still fighting tanks without LRF, Stab and APFSDS, just less than when it was 7.7.
I rather have the OG 7.7Heavies be in a matchmaker without autoloading apfsds wedges that they cant even hit reliably, much less pen, than have the strv 103c suffer a bit when its uptiered against the few 10.0 tanks there are.
I mean which tanks at 10.0 are gonna be such a big problem for it anyway

At the current br its a glorified constantly immobilized bunker with a autoloader and gun that looses to most vehicles with turrets and stabilisers
The Strv-103 doesn’t have a stabilizer either, it takes about 3 seconds to adjust a shot.
Not to say that it’s also impossible to aim.
T-72s and early M1A2s are probably what comes to my mind
All f those are 10.3 now.
huh- with all the recent changes i really cant remember what i face at each br
Another reply to your message:
Strv-103A is at 8.0, it does the same thing as Strv-103C does.
Strv-103C has a little bit more horsepower, fence armor that does nothing and APFSDS round.
It’s barely any better than Strv-103A and it shouldn’t warrant a full BR above the original Strv-103.
the strv103c could face
Leo2k
Amx40 and i think T64b + new challenger event at 8.7 (they were all 9.7)
They all moved up to 10.0 except for the t64b, old 10.0 moved to 10.3.
So the tank still faces the same enemy mbts as it did before
the strv103a is the only tank that is allowed to have armor. If it was in any other tree it would be 8.3 by now. Check out the balancing of the Maus and t95 for similar armor centric tanks and then check when heatfs is introduced at each nation that can completely negate their armor, leaving them slow, with 20sec reload
Apfsds is also a whole other level than apds and fence stops most old heat fired from uptiered enemies.

“barely fight it” how? it has around 140-150mm of RHAe and like only a 60 degree slope. It’s easy to kill and tricky to play.
Sure, 140mm at 60° is pretty good armor at 9.0 considering most are driving around in 40mm sheets.
As is a 4sec autoloader that guarantees that you get a followup shot and doesnt allow the enemy any time to acquire you (if hidden),potentially turn the turret(if they have to), rangefind you (if hulldown) much less return fire. Punching with modern apfsds and not shortrod like most soviets or the xmbt 70.
I get that hullaiming can be wonky but its no excuse to put autoloading apfsds slingers into ww2 heavy br ranges

the only time it’ll ever fight a WW2 heavy was in a full downtier, and if a 7.7 heavy gets up tiered, the strv 103C would be the least of it’s worries, like seriously, there’s ATGM’s.
besides, you just shoot a single track on the 103 and it’s immediately worse off than any other tank at the BR if they get tracked.

Okay, you seem to be a bit slow. It’s RHAe is 140-150 because it’s sloped. the actual thickness is literally 40mm. It is a paper vehicle, the only rounds that it can bounce are full bore with low penetration.
It takes far longer than any tank at it’s br to line up a shot, it’s rounds are below average in performance.
It doesn’t matter if it’s hull down. it has no armour. 7.7 apds easily pens it frontally. you clearly have no clue what you’re talking about.
you can kill the STRV103 by shooting it on the roof with the 122mm B-412D round from the IS6 or T10A
Theres Br 471D at 7.7. With 27 seconds reload. Without a rangefinder.
If you complain about its armor so much it sounds almost like you are standing exposed all the time. But idk. And even if you get hit, doesnt the strv103 have an autoloader and superhumans inside so can fight pretty much without penalty even if only 1 person is alive

You can bonk it on the roof with APHE and kill it in one shot usually. its also not difficult to estimate it and hit the shots

In all fairness this thing shouldn’t be 9.0 its pretty silly, like the T55AM1 and AMD1 being moved up with a barely functional dart.
