Strike UCAV For Infantry Discussion

Strike UCAVs since the late 90s have become a popular way world wide to safely deploy airpower especially in counter insurgency situations or when risking a pilot is considered not worth it. UCAV’s are considered the definition of a bomb truck they bring precision guided missiles to a battlefield in a rather slow manner. UCAVs are not immune to standard weapons even MANPADS are known to take them down in real life so they may be a balanced aircraft option to add to Infantry. Finally they would need your location in order to get you effectively so being inside or underground is a safe option.

UCAVs are already in WarThunder top tier battles as a spawn option they are not popular due to Anti-Air but Gaijin have invested time into these aircraft so there is a chance infantry has a space for them. The point of the discussion is to bring up examples of UCAVs there munitions and ways to bring them to infantry. They could be a ideal part of infantry support and in a equipment tree bringing slow and methodical firepower to a battle near you.

Could be a very hefty option

Would not be a good addition. They can get downed by MANPADS IRL because they could come from nearly anywhere, not a 500m square of known position. They would be functionally invulnerable and outrange everything that isn’t a dedicated SPAA with minimum 6-7km range, which MANPADS do not. I don’t even think these drones produce enough heat for Stingers and such to get tone (in game) at that distance.
