Strf9040 Series Historical and In-Game Performance

Hello! I’ve been playing the Strf9040 recently and I’m hooked! By the way, I’ve been wondering about something. Are there any models above the C-type of the Strf9040? Personally, I’d like it to look cooler if they added a commander’s sight like the BILL. Also, is the gunner’s sight’s magnification of 7.2x-8.0x historically accurate? It makes it difficult to use in close-range combat or when scouting. Wouldn’t it be better if the minimum magnification was around 2.0x? : )

Its accurate for the Day Channel. The rest of the system is missing though. Every CV90 with UTAAS should be able to lock aircraft like the AA variant.

IRL Sweden recently bought the CV9035 MK.IIIC (video about the vehicle here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoyreSgFLMU ) And there is the CV90 MK.IV prototype/TD (Technical Demonstrator) (Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa7eJeQK864 ), the CV90 MK.IV in game is a very early variant of the MK.IV TD so Gaijin could add one of the later variants as well if they want to.

I think so but not entirely certain:

(Sidenote: the type of air tracking the UTAAS uses isn’t the same as the current in-game IR tracking mechanic so it isn’t yet a mechanic in the game which is why the CV90’s don’t have air tracking in the game yet)

I see, that’s helpful. I did some research and it seems there is a CV90 equipped with a 50mm Bushmaster, but is there a possibility that it will be added to the Swedish tree?

I do not know as i do not have anything to do with development, no insight into what they are doing and no contact with the developers.

But i personally hope so, it would be a cool addition to top tier Sweden :)

If you want to create a suggestion for the vehicle you can do so in the suggestion section here on the forum. That section is however pre-moderated and only posts that follow their rules and guidelines will get posted and it can take a couple of weeks for a post to get reviewed for publication. If it gets accepted and made public it then has a chance to get sent to the developers as a suggestion later on.

I met a guy who works as gunner on Cv90’s and according to his claim sight magnification should be 1-8x.

Don’t know if its true or not but I believe it make sense considering he told me that these type of vehicles are also designed to fight in CQC battles if situation calls and I don’t think having such zoom in small places will help.

Makes sense, the UTAAS sight is listead as x8 and “direct 1:1 view” so a 1-8x sounds correct.

Should be able to be reported, i think game convention will make that into 2-8 instead though if i remember correctly.

Thank you for the valuable information!

I would like to submit a bug report immediately, but among the documents I am attaching to the report, would this be classified as primary source? Since it is an official link from the developer, I would assume it would be classified, but I have heard that it is sometimes considered inappropriate, so I would like to confirmUTAAS Tank and Anti-Aircraft System

Classified information cannot be accessed through official websites unles its a manual that is marked with classified mark on its first page.

I dont think SAAB does publish classified informations on their website.

I see, so does that mean it would be classified as a secondary source?

Most likely it’s a open source that can be used to report, but I’m not sure if gaijin will accept it or not.

Cause I’ve made s bug report about Swedish JAS39C lacking AGM65G on first dev server with official SAAB brochures and they didn’t accept it.

Then suddenly they changed their mind even tho report still stayed closed.

That’s terrible. Same gaijin quality as always. :) I’ll submit it in the hopes that it will be approved.

Out of curiosity, do you have a link to those reports?

What brochures did you use as sources?

I used official saab brochure that explains that JAS39C is compatible with all NATO ammunition including all AGM-65 variants, Gaijin told me that it wasnt enough then they also told us they found additional sources that indicates Swedish JAS39C is capable of using AGM-65G’s.

If you ask me its just bs, they knew that all C models were compatible with every single NATO munition but they didnt want to give us 65G’s until we created enough sound.

“capable of using” doesn’t mean “already integrated and tested” .

But i’m still interested in looking at those reports if you have the link :)

Edit:
Found it.
The brochure you used states this at the bottom of the image of the munitions:

So, that’s just what they are able to make work, not what they have already made work on the C version.
It also only states “AGM-65 Maverick” but not any specific versions.

I dont know man its wide known factor that JAS39C is capable of using every single NATO munition and Gaijin already knew that.

Remember they decided to add 65G’s to SA model first even tho it never used it nor tested it but for some reason they denied it for Sweden until people raised their voice enough.

Considering Gaijin’s beliefs and so called ‘‘marketing lie’’ methods they dont have good reputation in these cases.

No no, it’s capable of integrating, not using. so it can use all those weapons IF they are integrated and validated through testing first. It doesn’t mean that it is already now capable of just installing the weapon and using it in it’s current configuration. Those are very different things.

But technical feasibility is enough for it to be a suggestion at least. but much less chance of having it in-game compared to in-service weapons.

This is purely my personal opinion, but I believe that information approved by Gaigin is not only “usable” but also “actually used” (with the exception of the Soviet Union).
