Simple question:
Is the 9040 any good?
Only C variant, B and BILL are mid under 40Km/H when the stabilizer simply dies. Lvkv 9040C is the best of them.
All 40mm CV90s are fun to flank with. While you have to watch your readyrack more closely, the improved penetration compared to most ifvs is helpful.
As for the 9040 BILL…
The missile itself is good when it hits and is fun to use against enemies behind cover. Unfortunately the launcher has no vertical traverse (Atleast according to gaijin) so if you are not on a flat terrain, good luck trying to launch them without hitting the ground or firing them at the sun. Gaijin’s interpretation of ATGM “Physics” also makes things more difficult.
Simple answer:
Yeah, they are
Sure, they are good. but they have a higher skill level then light tank with MBT gun:
Pro’s:
- stock APFSDS with 143 ish pen, can be spammed but keep an eye on the 1st stage;
- upgraded HE-VT shell against Air, only SPAAG variant has enough elevation to do so;
- good mobility, reverse, neutral steering;
- B variant has highest Hp/t with SPAAG, but without other bells and whistles
Con’s:
- Trigger discipline in case of the ready rack, at 5 rounds per second 24 it will not last long;
- When 1st stage is empty it takes forever to replenish;
- HE-VT and Upgraded APFSDS for C variant get expensive fast with high RoF;
- SPAAG has huge bucket for radar on top which can’t be lowered, prime target for HE / HEAT;
- C variant get 170 ish APFSDS, but reduced to 120 rounds total, expensive to use;
- BILL II, as mentioned stab lost at medium speeds, launcher deployment takes forever, while 10.0 in RB in AB its 10.7 no line up;
- All need to flank, APFSDS isn’t strong enough for frontal engagements, specifically at range;
