Every single time i see in GFAB, i will not spawn in a SPAAG. It’s just no use, against helicopters i’ll consider using the ASRAD-R or the Stormer, both have SAM’s that are faster then Strela and don’t require lock to fire.
From my experience using it and competing against it, it has next to no lock time, a fast missile with good G overload. to sum it up:
Lock on SAM’s like Stinger, MIM72, Mistral SATCP, Type 91, only Type 81 outperforms it in most metrics, take much longer to lock, if flares are deployed no chance for lock, vehicle can move to avoid counter fire by AIR;
Radar / manual guided SAM’s like, Bolide, Roland 3, VT-1, Star streak, all except the Roland are faster then Strela and will reach target sooner then it. The vehicle needs to be stationary to fire and can move but is not ideal since you need to look at the target to guide the missile, radar lock can fail or lost due to countermeasures.
You clearly can’t read since I explained why it’s overtiered in very simple terms and whole thread had only 16 posts.
So I’ll repeat myself, Strela lack the detection capabilities common on NATO 9.3 missile AA, contrast seeker of 3M37M face severe limitations (only usable when target is on background of the sky during daytime) while it’s IR seeker is inferior (lower lock range, no countermeasure resistance) to what is found on NATO missiles.
It was and remain 9.3 vehicle that is overtiered like most soviet ground vehicles when compared to NATO equivalents.
I know it’s hard to believe that there is anyone on this forum who want soviet tree to be actually competitive instead of being overtiered into uselessness.
The strela is insanely good, just because you can’t use it well doesnt mean it’s a terrible vehicle and needs to be moved down to 9.3, there are very good reasons it was moved up, if it’s as bad as you say it would still be 9.3, wouldn’t it?
Anyways, I’m done listening to your jokes, have a good evening.
If it was NATO vehicle it’d still be at 9.3. That’s all there is to it. After all there are already vehicles which are at worst comparable to Strela-10 at 9.3 but since it’s soviet vehicle it’s easier to claim that any advantage it have is overwhelming and claim that any shortcoming it have don’t matter or that any advantage on NATO vehicle doesn’t count.
Yes and identical vehicles get same BR across all trees so long as they remain identical (which is good). At least now they do, it used to be different. Doesn’t change it’s point of origin, what would be the reaction if it was given adequate BR or why it’;s allowed to be overtiered.
That still does not change the fact the BR is good where it is. It is more than capable of dealing with targets at it br (i know this, most if not all of my games today i spent in it). Putting it at 9.3 would make it simply unfair to any planes that would have to face it.
On another note it seems to be overpreforming in a few places, but nothing concrete untill i get green light.
