I know it’s hard to believe that there is anyone on this forum who want soviet tree to be actually competitive instead of being overtiered into uselessness.
The strela is insanely good, just because you can’t use it well doesnt mean it’s a terrible vehicle and needs to be moved down to 9.3, there are very good reasons it was moved up, if it’s as bad as you say it would still be 9.3, wouldn’t it?
Anyways, I’m done listening to your jokes, have a good evening.
If it was NATO vehicle it’d still be at 9.3. That’s all there is to it. After all there are already vehicles which are at worst comparable to Strela-10 at 9.3 but since it’s soviet vehicle it’s easier to claim that any advantage it have is overwhelming and claim that any shortcoming it have don’t matter or that any advantage on NATO vehicle doesn’t count.
Strela is in 3 TT other than Russia.
Yes and identical vehicles get same BR across all trees so long as they remain identical (which is good). At least now they do, it used to be different. Doesn’t change it’s point of origin, what would be the reaction if it was given adequate BR or why it’;s allowed to be overtiered.
i dont thinks thats the case. Or at least it was not.
There was time each individual vehicle got independent BR but it caused enough complaints that since then identical vehicles tend to keep same BR.
That still does not change the fact the BR is good where it is. It is more than capable of dealing with targets at it br (i know this, most if not all of my games today i spent in it). Putting it at 9.3 would make it simply unfair to any planes that would have to face it.
On another note it seems to be overpreforming in a few places, but nothing concrete untill i get green light.
Its a unserstatement that uts more than capable. Probably the strongest anti air at the br. No flight zone within 6km
no it wouldnt, if it was a NATO vehicle it would probably be 11.0-11.7 like the type 81
11.0 for sure. i wish every nation got the soviet aa treatment. like 2s6 is 10.7 and its amazing there, so many aas could use a lower battlerating.
like i saw a gigachad tunguska deny an entire agm65 volley yesterday
Holy nation main cope. The soviet ground tree overall is decently competitive as it currently is.
Unfortunately the closest equivalent to Strela-10M2 is Type 93 not type 81 and Type 93 is clearly the better AA. The main difference in AA armament is that Type 91 missile have better IR seeker but lower max overload however Type 93 have thermals which greatly help with detecting target and it’s tracking method is stealthier. Type 93 is also more mobile and smaller so it’s easier to hide.
Target detection is main issue of Strela-10M2, which is massive for AA vehicles. To claim that ability to detect targets doesn’t matter is either complete stupidity or dishonesty.
So you want either uptiering of AA for other nations to match soviet AA or you want reduction of capability anywhere that isn’t absolute top tier. Other option is you are going to pretend that USSR get’s better AA despite that not being true.
2s6 is not “amazing” at 10.7, it’s only a little bit better than NATO 10.0 SAMs (thermal sight isn’t that big of an advantage for SPAA if it already have decent radar, the only real advantages are guns and missile range and guns are edge case as it were) and deeply inadequate to threats it face assuming pilots do more than dive straight to ground area.
It’s 10.3 SPAA.
Good for him but it couldn’t have been much of a “volley” seeing as 2s6 can’t guide more than 1 missile at time.
It really isn’t, to be competitive you need competitive vehicle (meaning vehicles are at BR where they can compete at somewhat equal grounds with expected opposition) and you need enough of them to build lineups but those are pretty much non existent in soviet tree.
This is why we should end this conversation lol what will one expect by seeing this
