pl gaijin explain me im in a10 and strela locked meg in front from 7-6.5 km and fire rocket on me this how works??? all aspect lock is 3.2 km this is duble really no russian biass…+ i wached the replay and lockef anf fire in me in front from 7km + i tested is and the missile have more range then 6km +
Strela have two seeker heads, IR and UV.
Stat card info is for IR seeker.
UV seeker is aspect independent but works only during daytime and have very limited range if intended target is not on background of the sky.
IR seeker works at night and doesn’t care about background as much.
What happened is that you were flying your criminally undertiered handout CAS plane without taking any precautions and were killed by 9.3 SAM that you outrange 3 times over.
It does not have UV, it has Photocontrast, Stinger has UV.
10.3
It’s at best equivalent to NATO 9.3, it’s just overtiered.
There are 3 NATO 9.3 SAM’s. A Mistral, A Type 91, and a Stinger. None of them are as good as the Strela. Are you mentally ok?
They aren’t as good as, they are better. While 9M37M missile may have little more range in daytime when target is on background of sky it sits on absolutely terrible vehicle without anything to help it detect targets.
Chaparral have thermals.
Type 93 have thermals.
SANTAL have search and track radar on top of thermals.
Strela-10M2 have nothing.
Radar isn’t a thing that exists in your universe?
They are not the strela is just much better missile, having the extra lock range combined the higher g load makes it much more letal, it is also better than the tc-1l missile on the antelope, which is just 0.3 under the strela
2 problems you might have faced
1: the Strela-10M2 has a photocontrast mode, allowing the seeker of the missile to lock onto your aircraft in essentially a picture mode. It gives it a significantly longer range of lock, however the lock range should be the same in all aspects.
2: the Photocontrast mode lock can not be flared, once it’s fired you’re dead unless you can get it to hit the terrain (or somehow sparrow roll it in a fast and maneuverable vehicle)
What radar, Strela doesn’t have search radar only tracking radar which does not help with detection at all.
9M37M have higher lock range only in certain conditions outside of which all missiles you are claiming are worse have much higher lock range. Additional g load is of little importance since all those missiles have high tracking rate, you just need to lead just like you need to on Strela. Finally 9M37M have no IRCM meaning that outside photocontrast mode it’s very suspectible to flares while NATO missiles are immune.
As for Antelope, one vehicle being overtiered is not argument to keep other vehicles overtiered, this at most means that both need to go down.
Lol
Almost like there was a reason it got uptiered, oh right, its because its stupidly overpowered at 9.3 and even at 10.3 now.
Every single time i see in GFAB, i will not spawn in a SPAAG. It’s just no use, against helicopters i’ll consider using the ASRAD-R or the Stormer, both have SAM’s that are faster then Strela and don’t require lock to fire.
From my experience using it and competing against it, it has next to no lock time, a fast missile with good G overload. to sum it up:
- Lock on SAM’s like Stinger, MIM72, Mistral SATCP, Type 91, only Type 81 outperforms it in most metrics, take much longer to lock, if flares are deployed no chance for lock, vehicle can move to avoid counter fire by AIR;
- Radar / manual guided SAM’s like, Bolide, Roland 3, VT-1, Star streak, all except the Roland are faster then Strela and will reach target sooner then it. The vehicle needs to be stationary to fire and can move but is not ideal since you need to look at the target to guide the missile, radar lock can fail or lost due to countermeasures.
In the a10, you should be operating outside of strela range, assuming there isnt heavy cloud cover.
Strela overtiered? Lmao
Holy shit nl way this guy actually said that lmao.
