I went and checked a random timestamp in his latest vod. Yes, you could barely hear his engine. But all the other sounds worked. Since setting your engine volume is a seperate control in the default game, its not an exploit or cheat. I myself have my own engine set quite low because its far too loud at 100%. I think mine is set somewhere between 30% and 40%
Eh, this isn’t entirely true. You definitely can have enough of an effect as a solo player to turn losses into wins. Not every game sure, but enough that win rate over a long period is definitely a decent identifier of skill.
The general thought process is that you’ll on average win 40%, and lose 40% of games no matter what you do, so its the remaining 20% that your influence can dictate whether you win or not.
If you add a full squad into this, it gets even better. I often play with a full squad of friends, who are all at least equally good as I am, when all four of us are together, and even if its just 3 of us, we regularly post 80%+ win rates over extended sessions that just dont happen when any of us are playing solo.
Having a 4 man is far too good of a set up lol. You can hold down entire sections of the map with cas being the only real threat but that’s where I come in in my stormer. Missing every missile as the enemy heli or jet is already within 4km of me…. But 97% just seems waaayyy too good to achieve this. But no one’s said the amount of games this stands for. 50 would maybe be believable but more than that and it’s suspect.
I play solo all the time - refuse to join a squad, and your winrate is only 2% higher than mine overall. In fact, the majority of squads I see not in a positive light to have on my team, but in a negative one, as they can easily sink a team if they all choose to leave together early in a match, or they’re below-average players to begin with and now they’ve just packed up a bunch of below average players together. Either way, what you’ve said actually leans into what banana is saying: Teamplay is important. But often that is not what you get from a squad on your team. Sure you may feel like you’re winning more in a squad, but nothing that will massively increase your winrate. It’s still 15v15, it’s still the luck of the team draw.
But it’s nothing that makes me want to go out and join a squad. I like the idea of having to work with a bunch of randoms to get over the line. And 97% winrate seems far-fetched even if in just the last month.
I mean, most of my games are solo too. I dont exclusively play in a squad of 3-4 lol. We play when we’re all online together and feel like playing the same thing.
Of course the quality of players in your squad will effect stuff. A squad of really bad or new players will definitely drag win rates down. But if you have a squad that knows what they are doing, the improved communication and mutual support you can give each other is seriously powerful.
As for whether you want to “join a squad” or not. Im not playing with these guys to tryhard and win. In this case these are literally just some long time friends of mine, and we play together to have fun. Its just an added bonus that all of us are pretty decently good at the game.
For the 97% win rate. As an overall score, yes I dont see it being possible. Over a shorter lets say 50 game streak? Given the right squad and playing a good lineup at that right BR, I can see it being done fairly easily. Even 100 games maybe. As I said, my friends and I can pretty consistently post 90% win rates in most sessions.
Good to hear. Yeah, I used to do all the clan/squad stuff back in the day, including with Navyfield/WoT. But can’t be bothered these days, and none of my IRL friends will touch War Thunder, haha.
Which is still insanely impressive. But when I checked his stream he was playing in a 3 man squad, so if thats all he does I can see it being possible.
