Stormer HVM Starstreak missile penetration values

Because the loal/ground radar lock and air to ground radar functions aren’t really functions in the game yet (some minor exceptions i think?). if they add those functions then by all means you should be able to if they can be fired that way IRL.

I don’t think we have many vehicles in the game that would be classified as at least moderately armored IRL. just because they are classified as “light” in the game doesn’t mean that the armor is light IRL. “light skinned armoured vehicles” is likely ment to be vehicles that aren’t ment for taking direct hits but have armor to handle shrapnel from missed mortars and to some extent artillery.

It then shows an impact on a ground based target, they are tracking ground based targets
The test vehicle isn’t a SAM platform

well sure. but take a comparison to any 30-35mm APFSDS dart and compare the speeds and weights of those to the speeds and weights of any of those (mostly not solid) pieces tumbling (ie not going straight with a point first). Then compare the pen amounts and you’ll quickly realize that the penetration wouldn’t be that great.

Not great, Not terrible. Do i think 30mm is too low? Yes. Do i think its much more than that? No. What i want out of this is the speed buffed so i can reach targets further out quicker. I can already kill most light tanks i see and over pressure mbts if i hit them with the booster stage. With how shockingly bad the ADATS is i would love to have my stomrer buffed in any way. Especially if they add the martlet as it would be slightly less range in exchange for roughly 500mm of pen with prox fuze.

Reasonable :)

With regards to the 1999 demo against an FV432, I can’t find the source. It is mentioned in a number of articles (including wikipedia) in an annoying circular.

Perhaps we should look at the armour of the Mi24 Hind and Mi28 Havok as examples?

Sure :)

But i have to get to bed, school tomorrow. I’ll answer when i can :)

Maybe tomorrow then. Have fun

Helis i find are meant to just have redundancy over redundancy over yet more redundancy. The ah 64 can be penned by rifle calibre rounds anywhere (unless the module has specific armour around it) because it can just take those hits and the extra weight from armour just isnt worth it. Dont know about the mi 24 but i would recommend starting with Russian helis.

ISBN 9780710626974 - Jane's Land Based Air Defence 2005-06 here is the book its supposedly in but its a bit expensive new and used its like 50usd

linear algebra with multi dimensionally defined matrixes is kind of hard to make “fun” x)

Dimensional analysis to create a base formula for a given physics problem, now that is fun ^^

ill check, may be cheaper in my area.

NOPE… 400 quid just for a book? sorry but even im not that crazy, although ill keep looking. @Gunjob have you got your mittens on this one? Janes land based air defence 2005-06?

The Mil Mi24 Hind is in the game.

Extra reading if you want it

Its 1,600 NZD for me new, and 300 used. It’s a bit ridiculous for a single book. My PC is cheaper than that.

yeah the Used option for Amazon says its a “never checked out ex library book” i dont wanna drop 50usd on it for it to be ripped up

Best i could fins is the 1992-93 air-defence online. Aparently most of Jane’s has been transitioned online and is free but somehow it skipped from 2000-01 right to 2014-15?

I don’t think anyone’s arguing that it should be as effective as full sized APFSDS. I would just expect it to be able to pen more than a 2/3rds of what a .50 cal AP round can manage.

50mm as it apparently was previously seems completely reasonable, as it would allow it to engage some soft enemy MBTs side on, something it’s completely incapable of at the moment.

If the Teapache becomes a nuisance again, just treat the Starstreaks like a hybrid AAM/ATGM, and increase the spawn costs so you can’t first spawn with them. If possible, I would have them have full ATGM cost except if you’re also bringing Hellfires, in which case they’d be discounted down to standard AAM costs.

The Mi24 is 0.50 cal proof in game, except or engines and rotors, according to reddit.

So the Starstreak should have far more pen then a 0.50cal in game
