May be a little off topic, but why does everyone love using 12.7mm as armour? Do they think that will stop 50cal or is it just a coincidence that 12.7mm is just exactly thick enough to stop rifle calibre? Or am i going to be mad and it just turns out to be half an inch or something dumb… its that isnt it… fck.

Ill take any speed increase i can get, and range. From what ive seen weve always been missing sources, that combined with gaijins flat refusal of using janes didnt help. They now allow janes as a second source so if i find one more with these stats i may get it to finally change. ill ask in the main stormer thread.

I play 40k, i know inches i just dont know the conversion rates off by heart other than an inch is roughly 2.5cm… or 2.41 or something.

Also a fair idea, but would make dumbfire rocket helicopters even weaker than they already are.
My own personal, somehat selfish wish would be to just remove helicopters from ground RB altogether. They don’t fit the gamemode well at all. They’d fit better in Air RB or EC, let alone their own gamemode.
A fully realised air sim would be a dream come true. Helis and planes all flying in one ao with maps twice the size they are now would be perfect. but alas, this is gaijin and they havent seen the worth of adding a new game mode in over a decade.

So I think we’ve answered the question, the Starstreak amour values in game are not realistic, being lower then IRL. The Snail has chosen that to be the way.
Now if you can pass it on as a bug and get it changed, then all the better

Sadly, janes dont count as secondary but only supplementary (whatever that means, i dont know). so highly doubtful anything will happen.

The armour of an fv432 is only 12.7 mm of steel so it doesnt matter anyway. its not 50cal rated so i assume they sued it because they knew it could punch a hole right through it.

Not sure, there may be more information in the 2005-06 book but that things £80 second hand. I may get it, just depends on how badly i want “supplementary” sources…
