Id gladly swap an HQ-17 for a Eurofighter or Rafale or F-15E, whatever you have
Imagine how good it could look if it was set up correctly. All reports on incorrect settings are ignored
And likewise, I’d gladly swap a Namer for a HQ-17.
I’d gladly take both the Eurofighter/Rafale and some actual content for top tier ground.
But this Namer is also just a sidegrade at best of the current Namer, so not really worthwhile addition.

Is the Namer even good though, like I don’t want a Namer.
Anyways the point I’m trying to make is you can’t decide it was a good update for someone else based on your own preferences.
I think it’s fair enough that Russia, Sweden and to a lesser extent Japan and China air players are a bit disappointed this update. Personally I’m hoping for a Gripen E and J-10B update Feb-Mar with a side of R-77 fix in Jan
It should just be a modification for the TOR-M1 the HQ-17 is not a big enough upgrade to matter anyways. Any intelligent CAS player will just dive immediately upon seeing the RWR ping and then just gun strafe the TOR because it has no way of defending itself from strafes… They should have added other AA instead of the HQ-17…
exchange the HQ-17 to have the real armaments on the Chinese and Taiwanese aircraft, 120 flare, GBU, AIM 9M and AIM 120 for the F16A MLU, AIM 9P for the F100F, PL8 for the J7E, C-701, C704 and KD-88 for the JF-17, J10A and JH7A yes yes me too I would happily trade the HQ-17 for all that!!!
This is true. It’s an incredible update for air players but at the same time either a pretty bad or at most a mid update for ground.
The best ground update this year is still seek and destroy imo.

The J-7E does NOT need the PL-8? The J-7E is fine and giving it the PL-8 would just inflate its br
maybe but the J7E really carried the Pl8
they’re gonna add everything eventually whats the rush, and if they don’t add it (hq-17 or namer or any other sidegrade that is being added) now it’ll be even worse later down the road
it’s not a question of balancing but more of giving the aircraft real weapons, especially for the F16A MLU which is a huge joke in warT

F-100F also carried way better missiles IIRC but it didnt get it because it would make it useless due to it not having countermeasures
Giving J7E pl8 will ruin Gaijin’s plan of making J7G a unique premium XD (if they do plan to give CN J7G as a prem, just assumption)
