There are plans for more crew models in the future yes.

These generations are not set in stone. The whole 5th gen was marketing from Lockheed back in the day.
In the end since F-20 originates from F-5 I would say it is 3rd gen yes. You could probably classify it as either.
Call it 3++ if you will but it is not quite comparable to the teen series, Fulcrum, Flanker or the Eurocanards.
A premium of that calibre does not exist currently which is as it should be.
Is there plans for more ground additions? Or is this update going to be mostly just air?

Bought myself a 12 TB HDD to upgrade my rig, so I shall be prepared for any War Thunder Updates in the foreseeable future.

Im looking forward to this dev stream quite a bit.
It was an highly maneuverable Fly by wire Jet with the ability to use AMRAAMs. By all tense and purpose by the US standard it is an 4th gen. Aircraft Gen is all arbitrary so while it may be an 3rd gen somewhere it is still comparable to the F-16 we have in game.
Purely based on its avionics and tech alone it could be considered 4th gen not even to mention the AMRAAM like you said

It is not using AMRAAM in game unfortunately while sadly being a premium.
You certainly can classify it as a 4th gen but one doesn’t have to. I’d agree that generational aspects often are arbitrary but in this case we were coming from the SU-33 supposedly not being the first 4th gen premium should it be addes as one
Your statement was there is no 4th gen premiums in game. But there are 2. I have no clue what you are getting at with the SU-33.
