Storm Warning - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

My first thought:

Ah, found the clips of the source.

American pilots are afraid of everyone). They are not trusted. An experienced pilot on an F-15E will be able to successfully withstand a typhoon purely due to energy. Rafale is a different situation, a melee aircraft. Well, in general, the best for long-range air combat are the F-15E/J-11B, a typhoon is not far from them. In Close combat, typhoon will defeat both of them, and Rafal will defeat all three

But it also has its own peculiarities and all that. The main thing is not what is under the hood of the car, the main thing is who is driving.

‘A coming storm’ (little bit overused)

‘Delta-canards’

‘European Brothers’

Something either weather related due to Typhoon being Typhoon and Rafale meaning ‘Gust of wind’ or something related to the European Brothers being Rafale and Eurofighter are my personal guesses.

“Extreme Weather” sounds pretty nice tbh

I don’t think they’ll go that specific with the J-10B/11B and Thai line also being a significant part of the update.

Chinese tigers and European doritos…

Perhaps not, I suppose Apex predators was not directly referencing the F-16 and Mig-29 despite those very obviously being the highlights.

The J-11B will be pretty good honestly but nothing special. It’s lighter due to composite, the Type 1493 is a decent amount better than the N001VE, PL-12s are pretty good, the ability to use PL-8Bs, and finally it can get WS-10 engines that have about 9% more thrust than the AL-31F

We already had two, chances of trailer today are narrow.

-700kg, and 132KN (30000) for engine. Amazing radar and pl-12.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but when it comes to De Grasse and all French 127mm, you’ll probably be a bit disappointed. It can only reach 15 RPM and it may not get the Mark 42 AP shells, only the Mark 41 HE that it historically used, so… you know. Wouldn’t put too much hope on that.

It’s radar won’t be as good as the Typhoons or Rafales at least from the very limited stuff I can find about it but will be still really really good and way better than what the soviets currently have.

I meant to respond to this yesterday but I remembered now. J-10B uses a divertless supersonic inlet/intake which should reduce its channel loss further to a very very good level though I doubt quite as good as Eurofighter as the Eurofighter had to have moving parts and a splitter plate to achieve such low channel loss, but somewhere in the 4% region is my guess for J-10B.

Also Gaijin will change channel loss in order to make aircraft fit their correct performance, but given there is no performance data on the J-10 that’s not particularly useful.

That is still 8 guns firing every 4 seconds. It is as meta as the atlanta, rapidly disabling batteries and then working its way down by eliminating crews.

1493 is an excellent mechanical radar, with a huge area and a range of about 150 kilometers. A lot of tracked goals, quick updates, a wide overview. The radar is very good.

Just name it Desert Storm

Oh yeah I’m not sayings its bad by any means it is going to be an amazing increase in power on the red side which I like to see!

I think it will be a slower scanning radar than the Rafale’s PESA which will be a better acquisition radar but superior in range and lock strength.

CAPTOR-M should be the best mechanical scan radar point blank though. But Gaijin might give us CAPTOR-C with some sort of downgrade though I have never been able to find anything explaining how CAPTOR-M improves over CAPTOR-C.
