Honestly, they should just add the Python 4 now as you are right, it doesn’t fit with the next group of IR missiles, and I don’t want them to just skip it

PL-9 is a missile that was only really used by the ground forces as air defense. PLAAF itself didn’t use it much and it was more frequently exported to other countries such as Nigeria for their JF-17s.
PL-8B was still the main missile for the PLAAF until the PL-10 came out.
But even today PL-8B is used occasionally.
Fair enough, but specifically for a 90s missile list the MICA IR, Python 4, PL-8B, and R-73M should all come soon

But I don’t know why PL-9 has been sitting in the files, and it is the C variant with IRCCM similar to PL-8B.
I don’t know what fighter can use that, other than something like a JF-17 variant.

The closest thing to a “radar guided” IRIS-T are some ground launched ones, like for example the SLX, which has an IR and radar seeker.

9C is an air-to-air variant though.
I think Gaijin might’ve been trying to see if it could be added on J-10A or JF-17, but then abandoned it. That’s my only explanation.
What about j-10b
J-10B would be inbetween the two.
It might pull more than the EFT in one-circle.
But not as good as the Rafale.
It will lose to EFT in a two-circle.
In that case you’re probably right that they were considering it for the JF-17 but dropped it

I mean the Bison actually is unique with its weapons loadout, can’t speak for the T-90, but that is besides the point, they aren’t like anything already in the British tree, therefore they’re unique
