PL-9 is a missile that was only really used by the ground forces as air defense. PLAAF itself didn’t use it much and it was more frequently exported to other countries such as Nigeria for their JF-17s.
PL-8B was still the main missile for the PLAAF until the PL-10 came out.
But even today PL-8B is used occasionally.

But I don’t know why PL-9 has been sitting in the files, and it is the C variant with IRCCM similar to PL-8B.
I don’t know what fighter can use that, other than something like a JF-17 variant.
9C is an air-to-air variant though.
I think Gaijin might’ve been trying to see if it could be added on J-10A or JF-17, but then abandoned it. That’s my only explanation.
I mean the Bison actually is unique with its weapons loadout, can’t speak for the T-90, but that is besides the point, they aren’t like anything already in the British tree, therefore they’re unique
