sure the top 1% are able to be very deadly when using a decent CAS platform but the Pantsir is A) the best SPAA in the game and B) still very cable of dealing with CAS, they are the best at hitting planes and the munitions they are firing.
My point is not the CAS is not a problem or ahead of SPAAs but rather that people complaining about the panstir must have unrealistic expectations or are just bad. While I will say the SU 27 is not top sure but it is a capable jet and nothing to sneeze at so unless there is an actual issue with the FM i.e. sources stating performance does not reflect what we are seeing in game then I just do not understand what they want done.
Pantsir is not capable of dealing with today’s CAS.
Pantsir’s direct equivalent CAS platform is Harrier GR7 using AGM-65s. Meaning in an equal engagement both have an equal chance of fragging the other.
There’s a reason Gaijin admitted ALL SPAA in War Thunder right now is proven to be incapable of providing balance. Us CAS mains have been telling you guys that Pantsir is useless since it was announced, not introduced but announced.
So yeah, new SPAA has been needed since Jan 2023 that’s better than Pantsir, such as SPYDER with Python 5.
I wouldn’t say that. Having played the Pantsir myself, it’s more than capable. Yes, it can be overwhelmed, but that’s true for any and all SPAA. I do agree that we need more and better SPAA though, that is for sure.
I definitely wouldn’t say that. If you want to consider a 1v1 between equally competent players, a Q-5L has zero chance against a Pantsir. The Pantsir is able to knock out the Q-5L’s weaponry without issue, and it absolutely can kill a high altitude Q-5L.
Again, I agree we need better SPAA. But the Pantsir definitely isn’t so bad as to be equivalent to a Q-5L.
On that note, I am not sure about J10 channel loss, cause J10A’s intake is similar to that of EFT, but J10B/C utilises a new intake for RCS reduction and a extended nose, which I have 0 idea what effect it will have.
These are ranges where it is impossible to get a tracking lock using any weapon we currently have in the game (as far as I’m aware). Yes, the Pantsir’s missiles can be kinematically defeated, but that does not make them useless.
I have not had to experience this in my Pantsir yet because planes usually don’t get that high above the AO. It definitely happens, I’ve done it before in my F-16C and F-15E and had it happen to me in my FlaRakRad and ADATS a few times, but those planes have to come down at some point.
Can we please stay on topic to the subject matter which is Rumor round-up, if you want to talk about if CAS is to strong or not in GRB please do so in a dedicated discussion related to such topic.
I’ve played the Q-5L and I’ve played the Pantsir. I can’t effectively get within range of Rolands, ADATS, ITO’s, or even remain guided when I get into IR range.
It’s technically possible, but laughably improbable.
Israel just received the F-15I, the joint best aircraft in air-to-air at the moment in most cases. So our current focus will be on other nations who have not had a new top fighter jet for some time.
I know you can’t say too much for obvious reasons, but do you know if there are a couple of things that top tier ground players should be excited about?
