Storm Warning - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Exactly, and the IRIS-T SPAA and the NASAM and the Spyder and whatever else people keep talking about are not really intended to function as SPAA’s, and their ranges would now out range USSR/Ru SPAA to the degree that it would require another USSR/Ru SPAA. All I can really think at that point is an early S-300 or a Buk of some kind, and then again, we’re getting back to the whole integrated AD system, not an SPAA.

I gotta finish up rank 7 and than try to get through the J-11A line as fast I can

Yeah, I don’t think that immobile set up SAMs really work for war thunder; it’s a shame the US never developed anything similar to Pantsir because the Pantsir is pretty cool but with no counterpart it’s bad for the game.

we could use a new top tier premium or squadron plane for israel .there is like 3 variants of the kfir c10 so there wont be a problem for 1 to be a squadron with the rest falling just under the netz in the tech tree

to be fair they’re working on a Boxer based IRIS-T SLS system but that one will have a shorter range than the SLM we’ve seen used so far so it may fit in game

the problem of it being an unflarable 100G overload TVC missile is still there tho

Again, the R-77-1 would be equivalent to the AIM-120C-5.

The R-77-1 should end up with similar range to the 120A/B while being more maneuverable.

The AIM-120C-5 would get slighly slightly less drag and fin AOA (smaller fins) but it would get ~10-20% more range.

The R-77-1 trades a small amount of range (compared to the 120C-5) in exchange for maneuverability. Without the 120C-5 as a counter, the R-77-1 would just be outright better than the AMRAAMs present in game.

3 tornados for Germany, 2 are prem/event ;)

Good luck

I do not appreciate being misquoted is all, I want you to present one instance where I said it “should” be added

And that was hyperbole, however it was you that originally accused me of coping and begging which is insulting when we were having a perfectly decent discussion.

Just ignore him lol. He pretty clearly isnt hear to argue in good faith.

I remember there was a spreadsheet showing that it was worse, at least if added ingame.

Or they add these systems, and the Russia gets a chance to see how it feels when your SPAA is leagues ahead of any others ;D

**as its been since Sky Guardians March 2023

Oh yeah, it is in the missile spreadsheet, basically the only difference is in the motor, it has a boost and sustain but overall, only about 100m/s more delta V so it’s hard to say how big a difference that makes.

Also its heavier b quite a bit

The R-77-1 is slightly slightly worse than the 120A/B in terms of time to target. Otherwise, it retains the maneuverability of the R-77 while gaining that range.

The 120C-5 is a minor upgrade over the 120A/B, while the R-77-1 is a major upgrade over the R-77.

The gap between the 120C-5 and R-77-1 is smaller than the gap between the 120A/B and the R-77. This means they’d be more balanced than what we have now.

Theres an s300 with its own radar, unfortunately.

You too

An NASAM is nothing close to an S-300. While the NASAM is nothing like an Pantsir aswell one with 9Xs or IRST missiles firing around 12 or 15kms would close the gap. If you want what it would closely resemble would be an chaparral with longer range missiles.

Edit: closes similarity from Russia would be the BUK-M1
