I’ve so far not encountered a situation where I could blame a TK on faulty IFF.
Plenty of situations though where I got targeted my mistake because they used a radar mode that didn’t support IFF, as I could then see in replay sensor view: If a blue kills me, even though I mark myself as friendly, player then claims his IFF didn’t work - then in replay I see he used ACM on me…
So as OP’s claim about team incompetence, this goes both ways, but again, I might have a reason to not identify me as a friend (not noticed call, maybe oversaturated and loss of situationalawareness, maybe just not in a position to be able to call back,…). But as attacker I have no reason to fire at a target where I’m unsure if it’s a friend or an enemy.
(Note however that even with tis mindset I’m far from save from committing TK’s myself - but I’m honest enough to admit that in 100% of the cases it was me and me only which could have prevented the TK. Greed, carelessnes, neglect of trigger restraint when I lost SA,… you name it.)
ive had the mirage f1c IFF mess up like maybe once out of all the times ive flown it in sim, so I can assume it happens(??) but i have no clue how often
also couldve just been a visual bug and the game didnt display the - over my contact but who knows
This kind of thinking is why most people on the forum are terrible. You call my option terrible, but provide non yourself, and only criticize. You’re the kind of person whom is either a troll or is stuck in the old ways of the game.
If it is called out (2nd option) it would call it for all Allies blinking showing up for 5 secs on the map for everyone, with a 30 sec cool down.
I’ve only played very little sim, if this callout supposed to mean something? If I were in a plane and someone in a tank used the “follow me” callout, I would not know I was supposed to identify myself.
Wow blame me. Of course. You, me and a sim match, let’s go.
I accept when i accidentally tk, but some situations are just not the players fault, if you are that naive that it’s my fault, then I don’t see how your a “game master”
What about scenarios when you fire an aam at an enemy? Then a blazing hot harrier for example flys in front of your missile path? You get a Tk. Is that you fault? Or the team mates? You’re the one who Tk’d after all.
My mentality is a helluva lot more reasonable than yours it seems.
I remember in the old Falcon 4 one had the option to call AWACS to confirm if a locked target was friendly or not, which simulated the often iffy reliability of IFF equipment.
Well, Sim in WT is still sadly underdevelopped with a lot of quite basic functions missing… = /
Voice chat (like radios irl) in simulator battles would solve any problems. There is a topic about it but it hasnt gotten enough attention. Perhaps that would be a better option.
OP this is clearly your fault and you’re playing the victim and blaming your teammate (whom you team killed ) for not responding to chat.
Have you ever thought that he might’ve been new to sim and not known what’s the norm? or maybe he doesnt have chat on. You cant just rely on your teammates to communicate to you in war thunder especially when your plane has systems that can verify Friend or Foe.
Did you just vote opposite of everything I voted because you have a burning hatred for me as per usual? You do understand I’ve noticed your trend, and stalking is against ToS
Simulator players are not as toxic as realistic ones. Plus you can always blacklist someone not to hear their voice chat. There are a lot of games using such methods. WT is not the only game with a toxic player base.
It is not my fault, nor will I ever accept the blame, in the real military, id love to see you get away with that kind of mindset, you wouldn’t, your plane would be a burning wreck.
He was in fact not new to the game at all.
MiG-23ML at 100m, with mti not engaging is a helluva hard thing to identify an friendly no?
