I understand the idea of the stock grind, making players earn upgrades for their aircraft and tanks, but at top tier this is absolutely awful. In both GRB (Ground Realistic Battles) and ARB (Air Realistic Battles), it becomes unbearable.
One of the most notorious examples is the absence of countermeasures on top tier aircraft. How are players supposed to defend themselves against a FOX-3 missile? fly low?(This isn’t a solution. player probably will die from missile or hit a tree. It’s not a solid solution.)
In GRB, the situation is similar. You cannot repair your tank because you do not have “improved parts”. This might not be a serious issue at lower tiers, but at top tier it is completely unacceptable, because the game actively prevents the player from defending themselves or counter attack
I know this post won’t get any results. There are countless posts here about this. Just a warning: New aircraft are coming, like the F-22, F-35, and Su-57, and they will arrive with the same problem. Some of them will be premium, and players from all nations will see how disgusting stock grinding really is. It is just a mediocre way to take people’s money, like a slot machine, essentially pay to win, and sooner or later people will start to revolt against it.
GRB is fine, you ofc aren’t gonna do well with no parts and sometimes stock heat but you should get the minimum in under 5 games from lucky kills or asists.
I know Gaijin wants this, but they basically force players to pay for Golden Eagles (5–10k) to get FOX-3 missiles and countermeasures etc. It is completely brutal.
The missiles accuracy and lethality increase when it is above you, and aircraft like the F-15 were not designed to fly at low altitude. Dealing with FOX-3 missiles like the MICA in this situation is hell, and everyone knows it’s unfair.
Pre-AESA. Tactics like Terrian masking and generally being sneaky meant that the first Typhoon was a piece of cake to get most of the mods done
Post-AESA, this second Typhoon has been a real chore, at least until I got the first few mods including chaff sorted. Been a lot smoother since… but yeah. Definetly time for at a bare minimum, limited chaff at top tier as you just cannot hide, people just have too great a degree of situational awarness. I tried even in ASB, and it just didnt work.
I would also say that SARH trucks at rank 7 (Like the Phantoms) need their weakest SARH in a limited quantity stock and all aircraft that are ground attackers (like the Jags or Etendards) should get some form of A2G weapon stock, even if its just a couple of small bombs or some rocket pods.
Anyone who knows what they are doing can deal with someone hiding in MP. It is not a reliable tactic and quite frankly, shouldnt be. With the performance of the AESAs, it is extremely easy to locate, track and engage someone flying low.
