Stock camo save location

Does someone know where the stock in-game camos are saved? For example the Ambush camo of the Tiger II(P)? I wanted to try to make my own camo and would like to use an already existing camo as a template?
Does anybody know where they are saved?
Also what file type are they? Do i need special software to open and edit or can i use Gimp?

Hi. Afaik you must create a custom template in the camo selection ( i do believe that one is the same as stock camo). That one pops up in the skins folder in the game’s file folders.
You can then edit that one with any software, GIMP works just fine.

Thanks for your Reply,

I found the files in the user skins folder, but they are all blank? Am i missing something? Also they are all the same, no matter what base camo i pick?

Then try and check WT Live. Im sure there is some stock skin or default camo template around ( tho prepare for a galore of anime posts, or as we like to call it, CP) )))))

I tried searching for it but I cant seem to find anything on the damn WT live site. The search function on there is very very bad, and as you told it is competly ridden with anime stuff.

There has to be a way to acces these camos, they seem to be saved as “ger_camo_dunkelgelb…” so they have to be somewhere in the game files.

Does anybody know where the package with the camos is located? Maybe a technical moderator can help me?

If you want those winter or forest camos you probably need to use CDK.

Thanks for your reply.

I already downloaded the CDK, but sadly i can not find the location where the camos are saved there either. All I see is an sample M60 and the us_camo_green that belongs to it.

Does anybody know how to access them? They are not tank specific, as many german tanks (WWII) use them.

I haven’t done it for years, but you have to create a custom skin slot in-game, then a file will show up in the folder list under the “user skins” which you can then edit - I’m pretty sure I used photoshop to just edit the file directly after that - I don’t know how to convert it so that other users can see your skin but if you’re just streaming yourself it works fine.
