Statshark in-game overlay?

The point is not what you would do. It is what the biggest sweats would.

Which, again, how does that make me responsible for their behaviour? Why I shouldnt want overlay for my personal use? Just because someone, somewhere MIGHT use it to be more toxic?

I did not say it makes you responsible. They themselves are responsible for the behaviour. But whoever makes the overlay is responsible for enabling such behaviour.

ODL is already a hig enough issue. I played exactly one match today and we lost because 6 people left after 1 death while only 1 enemy did. A lot of those people had 1 vehicke lineups. If the overlay existed it would probably show they have bad stats and I am sure some people would leave earlier.

There is no sure way to know exactly waht would happen if this overlay becomes a thing but one thing we can be sure from what happened in WOT is that toxicity will go up.

Exactly. Thats why I dont understand the whole “you shouldnt want it because other people might become toxic” thing.

That might be true.

However consider that if someone is such dedicated turbosweat that leaves matches he has no chance of winning, chances are he already seeks something similiar to this would-be overlay, if he dosent already have it and just doesnt make it public.

Indeed, and that is withou any would-be overlay existing. (or at least as far as we know, and discounting the statshark teams thing that is in live beta and as such not widely accesible).

To me that looks like that there are different reasons for people to ODL than this would-be overlay that are in dire need of fixing.

Opposite can be also true. Some of the ODLs might stay and fight and actually spawn a second vehicle if they see their chances of win are actually good looking.

We don’t say you should not want it. Only that it might not be wise to add it

They might. But in that situation considering how the rest of the match went probably not. Since only me and another player managed to get over like 1000 score. But that is irelevant.

I understand the concern. I just think theyre overexaggerated.

If any feature needs to pass some sort of “toxicity” test, there would be a lot less features in the game in the first place; as anyone can find anything toxic.

Some examples that come to mind, being able to see someones service record in game increases toxicity because it allows other people to see how good or bad of a player someone is (despite the fact it actually can decrease the toxicity because it is incredibly easy and useful tool to find out who lies).

Having better vehicles in your techtree increases toxicity because it attracts turbosweats.

Wanting a feature that would limit people from bringing up their grossly undertiered vehicles to top tier, such as M22 to game with Abrams, increases toxicity because it detracts from someones individual fun (despite them runining fun for rest of the team by objectively lowering chances of victory from pure vehicle capability standpoint).

Hell, if we want to go even further, implementing a feature that would prevent people from ODL or lower the chances of them leaving the game after one death increases toxicity because you are dictating them how they should play the game.

Doesnt that sound ridiculous?

It doesn’t make you responsible - but if it becomes annoying for Gaijin, they may just throw down the hammer anyway. I’m not saying the tool shouldn’t exist, just that it might be wise to think of safeguards now, rather than when you attract the Eye of the Snail.

That’s what comes with a balanced idea and proposition… It’s the pros and cons part, where you’re only looking for the pros.

Lmao.

Truth is even if i were to make this would be overlay, these people wouldnt be my responsibility.

How does statshark have access to all the information about what player is in what match and what vehicle they are in live, mid game?

Also how do is it possible to generate fake custom battle invite messages with custom text for its verification codes?

Isn’t the site breaking Gaijin’s TOS by doing that?

Im afraind you cant answer this question without knowing how does it extract the data it uses and I would be interested myself, because what they do seems like black magic to me.

Exactly my words
