Again, local host is entirely fine to use. Id encourage you to read the official things on it. There is one exception in SIM but asside from that its entirely fine to use, and is literally undetectable by the anti-cheat.

Ok, but localhost doesn’t let you rip the list of players in the match altogether, no?
You have to pull from the mission log?
Mhm, have to pull it from the log. But it generates the log in real time so within a few minutes of the match it should have most players.
Ah, that was my main question when I mentioned hooks.
HOWEVER:
I don’t think it matters one bit if it’s technically possible, until we address the community health concerns such a mod or feature addition would bring to the table:
This is something that would need to be addressed first, before we even think about technical feasibility.
With how annoying toxic and blatantly anti team war thunder and its players are, I can’t see it being a positive thing to add.
I’ve got a few ideas though.
Group 1: Scope and Timing Controls.
Group 2: Blur Precision.
Group 3: Limit opponent info.
Group 4: Guardrails.
Group 5: Positive reinforcement.
@Ion_492 @長門 @GNDM_Panzer @Wooserloop does any of this sound appealing / appeasing?
Respectfully we don’t need things like WoT’s XvM here. It adds an unneeded level of toxicity. When I’m grinding I just want to grind and play and I don’t want to fret over stats during a match nor do I want others to be doing so in my matches. It leads to problems. I personally am of the mind that caring too much over stats and numbers and percentages etc. kills whatever enjoyment is left. I know others don’t agree I’m just sharing my own opinion.
I’m already neurotic over blown matches and losing “bonus for winning” RP and SL from bot level IQ teammates, I don’t want that neuroticism further reinforced/validated. I already borderline hate the off-forum community as it is.
Since they already added the ability to see teammates’ entire lineup for what they bring to the match, I wouldn’t be surprise to see people quit the match when they find out half their team is made up of one vehicle T-80UE/Clickbait. We are already slowly going that direction
i think the rules allow it but don’t be suprissed if there any issues if this is conisdered cheating, It’s like with map overlay suggesting enemy postions and routes to take not actually cheats just map paint and that would be considered “cheats”
I am not for it in any form. I like to keep things simple. I already don’t like the jump scare player profile that pops up when I get killed.
Even if I could mute or hide it, it doesn’t mean others will. That was a problem with xvm in wot. Players would decide the match before it even started and it was misery at top rank. It would be worse here since people can rapidly 1 death leave. Wot at least locked in deserters until the match ended.
That’s fair.
I’m ambivalent - I couldn’t really care less either way, beyond novelty factor.
I’m just curious to see if there’s a way to bring a version that minimizes how much culture rot it would bring.
I stopped playing WoT about 2015, but I recall even then there was a huge problem of people flatout quitting a match right at the start because XvM says they had a less than 50% chance to win.
I believe I stopped playing before XvM became a thing - my selling point for WT over WoT was the fact that WT works off module damage and crew loss, not HP bars!
I do miss the arty tools though, the only thing I miss from WoT.
If I had no choice, I would settle for the stats post battle. Perhaps on a tab or window with details of both teams players. Again, I would prefer it after the match only.
IF they, or anyone, were to add this in any capacity, official or not, half of that list would need to be added to try and prevent bad actors from abusing the system.
All of group 5 as well as delayed stats and stat blurring into brackets, if I had to pick from the list.
Otherwise its something I never want to see in any game outside of a dedicated comp mode. And even then I generally hate comp modes.
I use all the tools warthunder has such as the Digging which nobody uses, But yeah there going to be some people “WA WA WA THIS TEAM HAS LESS THEN 50% OF WINNING”
Like i have been playing war thunder so long that to have a good K/D in my favorite tanks is impossible due to having so many deaths in them like 2k deaths to some vehicles to even get a good K/D ill have to play really good in a large amount of time and theres always that 40lev P2W guy yapping about skill issue and this will increase the amount of them
Honestly it is my belief that there are more people playing WT who will get discouraged and stop due to something like this being implemented, than there are current players who won’t stop if it isn’t. It would be a net player loss to Gaijin. Despite the fact that people greatly exaggerate the issue, the fact remains WT doesn’t have quite the numbers it did in times past to some degree, so retaining people and not giving them more reasons for discouragement are paramount.
Sounds like an overall consensus to me.
Honestly, I could see something like this being fine, IF and ONLY if Gaijin can fix community toxicity first.
… unfortunately, that’s an unsolved problem that has existed long before Gaijin and War Thunder.
I understand your point. Sadly you can’t really fix toxicity. You can only reduce how much you cater to it.
Ah, that was probably it.
Sad to hear that.
However I believe there are legitimate reasons for wanting to know how are players distributed between the teams.
First and foremost would be further data gathering for statistics. I was always interested if Warthunder implements some sort of SBMM and if there is anything that influences team composition. And since were not getting the the answer from snail itself, its up to us to come up with something. This however, could be done with post-game stats.
So, secondary and more personal reason as to why I would want such overlay, is that I simply dont want for my all effort to be for nothing and/or avoid the random type of death when I get shot by enemy that is sitting in front of several team mates. I personally never leave after one death, and I really dont care about someones individual stats (unless said person is acting like an ass on forums). But I want to know if, or how much I need to adjust my playstyle when Im loading into the game. I dont have as much free time as I used to, so I want my games to feel rewarding and fulfilling. Which is kinda hard to achieve when the entire left flank folds like wet napkin despite having more tanks AND they all one death leave.
