Stalinium armor?

You really are going nowhere with this. So let’s leave it there as it’s really not that important.
By all means makes up any story you want to justify bad shots or bad programming.

Whenever i start believing the Stalinium theories i just have to play Russian vehicles…and after a few deaths i become convinced it is a myth :)
I play all nations and i dont see a bias…there are BR ranges where US and German (in particular) vehicles are much more effective than their Russian counter parts…
My most effective vehicle is M10, the Tiger/Panthers are a much bigger threat than the russian vehicles…but i can admit that early T34s are very strong…as later IS tanks.
AFAIK…any of the three bigger nations has a good tank at most BRs…

People like to “frame” USSR vehicles with bugs that affect literally every nation in the game, it really suits their agenda.

The only bias that exists, is the insane amount of confirmation bias in their heads.

The biggest issue is that when new players start this game, and during their rush to the invincible Tiger tank that can take on many modern MBTs at one (i personally know people who think that), and start to die to thinkgs, like BT-5/7, T-50, T-34, KV-1, and instead of them learning to play, they fell into this “russian bias” conspiracy.

As a joke, “russian bias” was maybe funny years ago, but now, it is just used by those who believe in this conspiracy.

And when you fall into a conspiracy, it is extremely hard for you to recover from that. And no matter what kind of conspiracy it is.
There are people, who think that Lake Balaton (the largest lake in middle Europe) is just a mirage. A bloody 70x10km lake…

Im not sure about that…

‘’ In the first two weeks of the invasion (Barbarossa), the Soviet Union suffered the loss of most of its T-34s and KVs, as well as the loss of most of the older tanks:

  • By 12 July 1941, the 4th MC had 45 new vehicles out of the original 414.[[19]]
  • By 27 June, the 6th MC had ceased to exist, having lost all 450 new tanks.[[20]]
  • By 7 July, the 8th MC had 43 tanks (both old and new) out of an original 899.[[18]]
  • By 7 July, the 15th MC had 66 tanks (both old and new) out of an original 749.[[18]]
On one hand, these corps had, within weeks, lost most of their T-34s and KVs, but on the other hand, German reports did not note such a massive elimination in combat.‘’
Source: ''German encounter of Soviet T-34 and KV tanks - Wikipedia ‘’

Also those losses were without the presence of Tiger I on the battle field . it participate the eastern front in 1942.

‘’ Soviet ground trial testing conducted in May 1943 determined that the 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun could pierce the T-34/76 frontal beam nose from 1500 m, and the front hull from 1500 m. A hit to the driver’s hatch would force it to collapse inwards and break apart.
According to the Wa Prüf 1 report, the Soviet T-34-85’s upper glacis and turret front armour would be defeated between 100 and 1,400 m (0.062 and 0.870 mi) at a side angle of 30 deg, while the T-34’s 85 mm gun was estimated to penetrate the front of a Tiger between 200 and 500 m (0.12 and 0.31 mi) at a side angle of 30 degrees to the incoming round.

So, according to bibliografy ‘’ Soviet ground trial testing conducted in May 1943 determined that the 88 mm KwK 36 gun could pierce the T-34/76 frontal beam nose from 1500 m, and the front hull from 1500 m. A hit to the driver’s hatch would force it to collapse inwards and break apart.‘’
BUT …
in War Thunder a T-34E STZ takes a hit on its side from a 90mm spg gun from 100m distance and all it needs is a fresh paint…
I know that the obvious answer is that ''this is just a game ‘’ but since gaijin developers try all these years to keep accurate technical data to all vehicles with countless updates in order the game to be fair, the facts show that either the have very long way until that or they simply dont want to.

Tends to happen when they watch one too many late night ww2 shows on the history channel.

To be fair, it was (and still is, but not that much) an OP pay to win thing. Especially when it was used on a KV-1B or KV-220, B1 bis/ter, and things like that.

Bought into the hype did you ? The T-34 was an innovative design at the time but it was also crude and had numerous problems if you do some serious unbiased research on them. Like the shermans, they did their best in numbers not alone.

T34 is sold as being the best tank in 1941 when it outclassed all german tanks at the time. I wasn’t there, but the common description was that it had armour and firepower way above the PzIIIs and PzIVs, and was defeated by superior tactics, AT guns and/or mechanical issues.
Same theory is later used for Panther and Tigers :)

In WT we have the BR system that provides matchups between vehicles form different years (or ages) and with ammo that was not historically available or common.
There are two different issue.

  1. Russian tank is too strong at its BR…and this would be a game problem. I believe some Russian tanks are very strong (curiously T34/42 is one of them) BUT Russia has no more “too strong” tanks than US or Germany.
  2. Russian tanks are stronger that historically reported. This appears more with prototypes and MBTs. I have some opinion on WW2 vehicles that were used in battle…i have no idea on vehicles that never faced each other. From recent events i “think” some Russian MBTs may have armor that is more effective than it should be BUT I AM NOT SURE and I DONT REALLY KNOW. But i see most arguments as lacking verifiable data. I played a few old games where the designers had to “guess” some vehicles capabilities…some were later proven wrong, but i was ok as long as game was “fair enough”.
TBH…i dont care so much, as long as game appear fair enough in terms of BR.

You are one butthurt kid for sure.I didnt see it first but since its been brought up we have an issue of a kid arguing with an adult quite possibly.Either that or autism, you fixating on one or two words of the conversation and missing the piont.I dont always feel entirely comfortable talking to some people on here.I can see why the conversation is going round in circles.Maybe you missed the sarcasm or the sarcasm covered up the piont being made not sure. How about Stalinium on Chinese or Finish T34s? Does that exist?

Calling names and puting labels to someone is easy but difficult to prove your point of view…

ofcourse

An adult should express his thoughts with respect in order to have a civilized conversation without trying to offend the other by calling him names …i can see who is the the child here

Not sure if i was clear. I think t34 (42) is a very good tank at its BR. But so are others…PzIVF2 was already good at 3.7 and a match for T34…now it is a killer at 3.3. And my best tank at 3.7 is actually M10 (t34 a close second).
Other t34s are not so good…the 85mm versions are outmatched by others at same BR…and the 4.X versions are not as good (for the BR) as the 42 version.

Each BR has one or a few “better” tanks…in 3.7 i believe it is T34 and M10…but i dont see Russia being dominant at all BRs…hence me not seeing “Stalinium” :)

If i had to choose ONE tank that seemed too hard to kill i would faster go with Jumbo (was 4.7 at the time)…not sure if Rooseveltinium is a thing :)
