Unfortunately it has what I would call “legacy inertia” making it extremely slow to manouver and change direction.
This affects only a few tanks: Panthers, Type 74s, Italian Leopard 1A2 (German one was fixed after my report) and the ST-As.
But other than that it’s pretty damn good imo
It shouldn’t be THAT much smaller and inconsistent - it’s borderline to the point where I question why I even bring HEATFS.
Prior to giving that thing 90mm M82, having HEATFS as the “best” round for it was terrible after the post-1.67 nerf.
It is long overdue to undo that nerf. You want BR decompression, right? I do too. Undoing this one change will force expansion of all BRs 5.7+ by minimum 3 entire BRs to begin making proper room.
I’ve still had zero issues with HEAT-FS with plenty of matches in the M46. It does about exactly what I expect. It’s a good shell, the ST-A1 and ST-A2 are just bad platforms.
And then meanwhile every shot I have taken with HEATFS recently has killed a single guy tops. Including with 90mm M431 (which is supposed to be an upgraded version of the exact round on the M46/ST-A1/ST-A2).
So if nothing else I’m glad you keep getting lucky with it. But I hope one day it gets restoratively buffed to the same consistency as large solid AP.
