SRAAM Overhaul

First off. This change is absolutely amazing. You’ve made a DOA missiles into what might be one of the best missile at 9.7. The Harrier Gr1 and Hunter F6 that needed to be 9.3 are now well and truly 9.7 worthy.

So great job.

But there is one single outstanding bug report…

(I AM NOT. I REPEAT NOT ASKING FOR ALL-ASPECT)

There is this outstanding bug report for SRAAMs to get all-aspect and whilst for obvious reason they cannot remain at 9.7 with all-aspect nor could they go up to even 10.3/10.7 without flares themselves I would simply propose a compromise that maintains their current BR placement without pretending this report doesnt exist.

Expand the rear-aspect / side-aspect angles that the SRAAMs are able to acquire a lock so they could be fired at slightly sharper angles. Even an extra 5-10° would be amazing and really round out this incredible weapon system that we have finally gotten back after 3-4 years.

Would you like to see expanded rear-aspect angles as a compromise for the SRAAM instead of their all-aspect?

+1 Improved rear/side aspect angles would be welcome.

I agree that all aspect would be too much.

I have not been able to see anything from the devsever yet.

What did they change?

Not only do the SRAAMs no longer spin out randomly but they have practically triple their range.

On current live. Id only fire at a target that was further than 450m away and within 800m. On dev. I was firing at and killing targets nearly 3000m away and as close as 200m

Video might have broken

Quick video for you.

I am. I dont like weapons being inaccurate for balancing, balance based on true capability

Love to see it

I can finally start playing the harrier gr1 again.

Yep. same.

No way! I love the harrier and the SRAAM but having to be sub 1k from the target was always difficult, this is a welcome change!

Does it retain its high off bore ability

the days are back, I’m certainly going to enjoy playing it for the first time since I’ve gotten it,

the SRAAM buff + FM Fixes, i wouldn’t be surprised seeing this 10.0 again, if the IR sig is fixed/flares are given

Better than before because they dont bug out

I would take all aspect sraams, just as long as they gave the gr 1 its flares and fixed (would be a nerf) to the hunters to keep them lower. Would have an amazing fighter in the gr 1 and a decent lower br option in the hunter. 10.3 hunter (join the other cancer that is the mf/smt and so on) with the gr 1 going to 10.7 or 11.0 depending on how much more they decide to fix (buff) the harriers.

Me when I still have PTSD for Hunter F.6 since version 1.93

I… I can finally enjoy flying my Hunter F.6. Its a thing of beauty.

Tf, SRAAM now looks like a 10.0 missile, and if it gets extra side lock angles, it is going to look like R-73 but Bri’ish. I ain’t so much against this missile being brought to IRL stats and have British mains have fun for once, but I don’t like the perspective of 8.7/9.0/9.3 and even most 9.7 planes

in that case the Magic 2 will pull 70G and be almost impossible to flare

must be buffed to all historical capabilties

I personally want a full fledged SRAAM but on more platforms like the Phantoms and Tornados. A 1960s and 70s R-73/AIM 9L would be very powerful but the lack of flares on current platforms would give them a worthwhile trade off, ofc if they are too OP like that then they get moved up!

That is the other option, just have rear-aspect and all-aspect versions and give them out to BR appropriate aircraft. But I think arguing past the jag is gunna be near impossible. Not being soviet, paper weapons/proposals normally dont get through

Personally just have the one hella OP version (yours is better for balance) but I’m a loon and a lunatic and a sadist and I want Britain to dominate once again. #Make Britain Great Again

It could get limited all aspect (500-1000m) against only afterburning targets which would help a lot with side aspect shots but it’s not really needed anymore
