Rafale dropped more than 2/3rds over the same time period? Also there are three of them, so the player base is more split.
Want to know what that graph shows?
Just how bad the Typhoon was.
Decemeber to March it didnt have a radar, but could just about solider through matches against the Su-27 and other Typhoons (though Typhoon vs Typhoon combat did get stale)
Then player count dropped in March. Why?
0 Typhoon bug fixes and they added the Su-34 that could easily beat the Typhoon in its current state.
Steady drop off until the next major. Barely any changes once again. Couple with the stagnant and massively outdated nature of top tier ASB and the lack of new maps. I wouldnt be surprised if every single aircraft at top tier had a similar decline bar the Rafale.
With the changes we got recently. You might see an increase again, though the Typhoon Cockpit has a LOT of issues, and I know quite a few are frustrated by those. I know I am.
They all look like that for the most part
Rafale;
Yes.
Rafale player numbers had stabilized for 3 months and then dropped by 25 percent as soon as turn rate was reduced.
Interesting. Was expecting far smaller drop off. Goes to show just how stale top tier ASB is.
Though if 3-4x more matches were played by the Rafale does show the issues the Typhoon had.
Edit, was looking at the F3 late graph not the FGR4 graph. My bad. That difference will be the lack fo downtier bracket
Anyone looked at the longer term and correlation with major patches (where new FOTM comes fresh in…)?
Anyway, I don’t say adding additional brackets is THE solution for Sim. It’s one of many aspects, some way more important, but maybe less easily solved…
I’m not sure why your graph looks different from mine, but it still shows a drop of more than two thirds, which is the threshold you set for being “abandoned.” It follows the same overall trend as every other aircraft, so using a single statistic in isolation here is misleading.
Ahhh yes the plot doesn’t update as I change vehicles. haha/
The Typhoon has been consistently the 2nd best plane in sim since it was added. The only plane that is decisively better than it is the Rafale.
In a dogfight*
The radar issues its been plagued with until recently rendered it practically a WVR only jet. In ASB, a gamemode were radar performance actually matters…
You were screwed. Trying to fight Su-30s were impossible. They would just intercept your AMRAAMs and rain R-77-1s down onto you.
I spent most matches just defending the AF from spawn campers.
Mine is formatted on mobile version of website.
Sim playerbase has been in large decline across the board over past 6 months. Everyone that still plays the game has noticed this.
We will see player spike this month from plane event and then another big crash out to current levels after event is over.
Adding 1 more bracket where Tornado goes from bad to slightly less bad isn’t going to change those numbers.
I mean zero argument from me there.
Imo. Its not the aircraft or brackets at fault there. Though it would help,
Its no new maps in 3 years and stale gameplay that hasnt been updated even longer than that.
When you encounter F-86 Sabre AI aircraft in the Typhoon. You know the gamemode is outdated
The radar issue is a nothing burger and has been one ever since it was released. All of the issues with it also apply to everyone else’s mechanical radars. And there have been multiple fixes for it.
If you are losing BVR to the Su-34 then you really don’t know how to use your plane. It doesn’t even have R-77-1.
and what does the FGR4 almost always face?
Su-30 and Rafale with… E-Scan radars.
meant Su-30, not Su-34.
Compression never solves anything, the fun part is, it applies wether for Realistic or Sim.
Air 14.7 should be here already, if not more, same for ground that should have 12.7/13.0. Compressing a supersonic AIM-120 carrier is not the answer.
Ok and? That doesn’t keep you from using your radar.
I’m pretty sure Eurofighter got radar scan zone updates a few weeks ago. It’s IRST also got improved as well. It’s also the only plane that doesn’t have to toggle to radar lock to fire an ARH missile from an IRST track.
It’s the 2nd best plane in the game and your argument is that you won’t play it because there are other planes that are better in other ways.
Yes a few weeks ago. Its spent the last 8 months without a competitive top tier radar.
No wonder the Typhoon FGR4 had consistant player drop off.
eh… The lack of usable IRST interface doesnt really make it all that useful outside of ARB.
This seems to no longer work.
Edit it wasnt a few days ago, but is again
No. My argument is that for the past 8 months its not had a radar fighting aircraft with some of the best radars in game in a stale environment on maps too small
Only works from HMD or ACM IR tracks. But those can lock out to any range.
Hmm… Interesting. Had it a few days ago where it wouldnt let me arm a missile. I dont think i used the IR SRC mode to acquire the lock as I normally always use ACM/HMD
No, scratch that, what probably happened is I swapped a hard lock into an IR lock and that blocks it
It spent the last 8 months with a radar that is typical of every other mechanically scanned radar.
IRST interface has been improved a lot over past year with the way scan box interface is modeled. It’s literally one of the most useful features in SB as well as having the camera slave to the target for IFF.
Everyone complains about maps and then picks the flattest map possible. At any one point the map rotation will be majority Denmark or Sinai. There isn’t even an argument that people like Denmark because of carrier ops because they were removed a month or so ago.
