You said this: “As you can see your squadrons contribution is only 11%” But how is this number of 11% caculated?
Weavis (first answer in this thread) said: “It clearly explains it at the bottom of your picture.” But the screenshot DOES NOT explain it. It only says that my contribution to the totals changes how many points I earn.
But thanks to ItzzWar and superbuster I do now understand it. It means that I have to leave my friends squadron and join an anonymous one just to accelerate the process of unlocking the squadron vehicles.
And even then it will take months to unlock a single high br vehicle like Leopard 2 PL. Is there a vehicle that is worth it?
If the squadron maximum activity reward is 9720 points, then 11% is 1069 points.
But there is 1080, so the exact squadron activity must be 11,11% (if 9720 = 100%, then 1080 = 11,11 %)
20,000 every 3 days, if the average squadron vehicle is 400,000 then it will take 60 days per vehicle at that level
As long as your squadron meets 20,000 points and you meet or exceed this, then that’s all what is required, if you active and your squadron is not, you need to find an active Squadron, to maximise your Points, its that simple.
You mean, 20k every 3 days, so it would at least be 60 days for a 400k vehicle, not 20.
So if I wanted to accelerate the progression towards the Leopard 2 PL (450k still missing), I had to join a squadron with high activity and then play for at least 75 days to get the points. Much better than playing for more than 4 years…but since there is no interaction needed in the squadron, what’s the point of gaijin of punishing small squadrons with people, who actually are friends or playing together?
I too have completed them all and this is the third time I have been “in between” Squadron vehicles, waiting for the next new one to drop. I was thinking that we would have gotten another with this last Update, but … . nothing, not even a word. While a little perplexing, not that surprising really as current events seem to be setting the tone and new standard of just less stuff being offered all around I guess.
I put forth a Suggestion that we be allowed to use the “excess” Squadron RP to use for getting modifications on the Squadron vehicles only. I have already lost enough RP to have finished a new vehicle now and the tally will just keep going I guess. Being able to research some modifications every 3 days would be helpful and also might lead me to play more of them, diversify and work other nations more. We can hope . . .
I’m sure I did something wrong, as it was closed pretty fast, but here is a link so you can at least look at it. Someone that knows more about making proper Suggestions and how to actually work this new Forum better might have better luck . . I hope someone would try anyway . . .
Most of us are but we´ve also had players from other European countries or even China. We’re not in a squad to discuss politics, we just want to play and research some squad vehicles with the greatest possible effectiveness.
You can bring your friends with you into an existing squad like mine or any other that is dedicated to squad vehicles and do whatever you did before. You can join our discord if you want, but you can also use your own discord or TS. You don´t have to communicate or team with other members of the squadron but of course you can ask for help if needed. I´m fine as long as you help us to get our 20k points. Some squadrons have their own rules like “you have to be online 5 times a week between 19:00 and 22:00” or “sim battles only”. We don´t. Just be active or get kicked when you have 0 points some weeks in a row. That´s all. Oh, and don´t be a nazi!
On the other hand you can grow your own squad to a higher number of (anonymous) active players to get 20k rp reward. That will take some months but it is still your or rather your friend´s squad.
Squadron research points are gained from being active while being in a squadron. For every 200 research points earned, an “activity point” will be added to the squadron’s collective pool. Every 3 days, these activity points will be converted into an amount of research points towards the selected squadron vehicle, depending on the player’s relative activity and the total number of points in the pool. Each player can contribute up to 360 points per 3-day period, and the activity pool is limited to 20,000 points. https://wiki.warthunder.com/Squadron_vehicles
To get 20k “squad RP” the squad needs to get 200*20000=4 million normal RP in total within 3 days. So, for example, if you earn an average of 1500RP per battle, then you need to fight 2667 battles within 3 days. You can’t do that with 5 players, but you can do it with 100 players, who then have to complete an average of 27 battles each in 3 days, or 9 per day. So you can see the number of active players DOES matter.
Within most large squads there are several groups of friends or solo players who don´t know and don´t interact with other groups or solo players of the same squad. You can still have your own private bubble with your 3 or 10 friends within a large quadron.
It´s a bonus, not a must have. And it can also take weeks or even months to unlock a high BR vehicle like the normal Leopard 2A4.
Most of them aren´t. SKR-7 is great, Firecrest is useful, some are crap and others are similar to the vehicles in the normal research tree. I just wanted to have them in my collection.
The F-5E FCU is probably my favorite… Granted I never got to play it before the BR changes so it might’ve been a lot more fun before too… I was off by 2 damn days…
FINALLY! Still someone remember that 25000 points every 3 days top limit. I tried to explain to my squad that the maximum was 25k not 20k every 3 days. But I haven’t found any evidence from official resource except your reply in this chat.
There were times, when you could accumulate squadron RP if there was nothing interesting to research.
Now you HAVE TO spend them outright and, if everything is researched, they go into the void.
That’s correct. It appears that the information, along with the other 25K details, has been removed from the original developer post about the mechanics. However, it was definitely there initially. I even checked the old forums, but they no longer exist, which is unfortunate.
Please provide link to article that says 25000.
Article I linked never mentioned 25000.
It was 4 years ago, I do not remember if there was any more articles on this. The one you discussing never had 25000. It was always 20000 there. No edits.
