And are you one of those “Stinger will get IR/UV seeker any time now” copers too?
Idk about the stinger i heard that its underperforming but tbh i dont think it should be buffed cuz then it will make stingers carriers move up
Anyway if gaijin can make dircm and lircm or how its called so they can make dual band too
Its shouldt be hard to implemet since we allready have optical lock so just need to make it more resistance to terrain background and add it to the current ircm
Long story short, Stingers IRL have dual band IR/UV seekers as flare rejection and lock range extension. Something Gaijin “recreated” by giving in game Stinkers very long by IR missile standards all-aspect lock range and then combined flare rejection of gatewidth and tracking suspension. Which all in all, gives Stinkers in clear weather pretty damn solid range against fixed wing aircraft and you need to put a LOT of effort decoying missile to the point its easier to physically dodge it.
Flight model related “underperforming” comes from missile AFAIK using rolling body and dual plane steering, something Gaijin refuses to model as well thus missile is less maneuverable than it should be, to the point it makes just dodging it possible.
As for Optical lock, allegedly its entire “terrain background” resistance boils to single value - altitude above ground. If aircraft is below 50m AGL, missile stops working, regardless if seeker has actual terrain for background. Don’t have means to verify that though.
Never heard of that and ik strela doesnt work like that
Anyway my point is that p5 should get optical lock and it isnt hard to implment
And?
Sounds like a good state to be in as 24 FnF 50km+ missiles is very much so not good for the game, and its not like the base Buk system cannot guide multiple missiles at once.
If the likes of the SPYDER could drop more of itself then this would be far less of an issue, but as it stands the M3 would be the IRIS-T SLM but with even more spam which is totally great for the nation that still fields one of the best SPAAGs in the game.
Also raises the question of, then when are we getting PAC systems if this becomes the case, the M3 as it is, is far above even the SLM that we have currently in sheer battery volume of fire, and a majority of nations don’t have comparable systems bar Patriots.
I do not know if they changed the radar but for me, the radar cannot pick up helicopters and drones.
Also ion a few occasions, the planes it picked up were appearing fly away on the radar but they were closing in on me for a strafe.
Anyone here experiencing the same issues?
Who would’ve thought an Israeli vehicle is modeled super bad not like every other thing in the tech tree is modeled correctly!
Merkava is gimped,Namer is gimped,Namer Tsrikhon is gimped,SPYDER is gimped…etc
This is getting absurd, i was super excited to grind for the SPYDER but here we are.
The missile shaker; gimme the missile shaker, dude, shake your seeker!
Fr i from the moment the update dropped i grinded it and got half way when i saw its so bad and butcherd so i moved to other nation until they gonna fix it
You’ll probably be waiting for a VERY long time. I’ve given up at this point. As much as it sucks gaijin won’t ever give us something we can actually use. God forbid the one nation on the planet known for its impeccable air defense actually receive even a shadow of its capabilities on that role.

Insane moment. Clip it!
unreal
no way
Sry to be this guy but hold ur horses ppl
We can wait years for it to come like with the merkava bug reports
That’s what I was about to say the accepted it they never said they gonna implement it the dev will probably say it is too powerful to be added right now in the game they always have some excuse
So the TOR, Pantsir, CS/5 and HQ-17 all got actual AESA tracking modeled, yet the likes of the Spyder, AN/MPQ-64 and SLM TADS did not, lmao.
Hilarious situation for the Spyder in particular since, well, its a 360 AESA by design but still functions like a mechanical one.
PESA. It might look like that, but it is only one beam going very fast. It was always like that.
Both 64 and 4D also have PESA pattern, but instead of doing electronic scan in both azimuth and elevation, they do only in elevation. Azimuth is mechanical.
exMHR has electronic scan both azimuth and elevation, but it is made just like the 64/4D, so beam going fast in elevation, but slow in azimuth.
Nope, added in the recent patch -
CS/SA5, Tor-M1, HQ-17, Pantsir-S1 — tracking radars have been converted to ESA radars. This has reduced the time it takes to update data on targets in the field of view of the tracking radar.
The AN/MPQ-64 is not PESA, it is a AESA - AN/MPQ-64 Missing TWS ESA // Gaijin.net // Issues
Extended Multi-Mission Hemispheric Radar (exMHR)
Yes it was

What they did is they changed how it behaves. In the past it’s beam competed a single scan in 0.05s, while spotting new targets and updating old. Now the beam completes scan in 1s. They added a TWS ESA, that is basically a second beam, that does not detect new targets, but update already detected one every 0.05s.
