It’s because, in the footage after firing from the side, the seeker lock was lost and it switched to IOG+DL, causing it to miss the target.

I think it looked something like this :)

No, aster 30 didn’t miss target because of loosing lock. It just doesn’t have the energy to keep up. Your drawing was correct but the reason it looks like like this is because aster 30 was much faster at the beginning. It actually reach close to the target, loose all its energy and miss the target. Whilst derby er have a second boost causing him to arrive later than aster 30. If you check the image aster30 have already travelled 25km.

I was the one who recorded that, so I thought I had a good handle on how the missile was moving.
But it looks like you’re right. sorry.

I am sorry I did not read who recorded it. I wasn’t expecting aster 30 to loose lock if Rafale was not dumping chaff. Sorry.

seing aster 30 at 0.68 mach after 25km is not beautiful

People mad spyder has something good now and up to par if not better. Cry to gaijin.

It’s not even that good the second pulse rules are holding it back lol

Don’t worry.

If Gaijin doesn’t “fix” the Derby, they’ll certainly find another Israeli vehicle which desperately requires a “fix” of some sort.

It’s between 1-25 seconds it can activate its second pulse and it is depending on how far the target is. I’d argue that’s pretty good.

Seems to always be the case lol

Nope it’s always 25 seconds so for targets that are far away it’ll activate too early and waste the energy it gains till it reaches it

When you’re 25 seconds away from. Hitting the target that’s what it means now imagine if that was between 15-18 seconds it’s closer and hits with better speed

I think you should listen at 2:30 in the video

Either way the derby er is certainly very good given it’s capabilities they are giving it.

People are already showing that

Did they fix the radar or its still missing its aesa scanning pattern?

They did not

Yes I know it’s rules the remaining time is the minimum time to hit which is 25 seconds
In most scenarios this rule Activates the second pulse
Mostly you’re launching at targets within 15 km that means the second pulse will activate 2 seconds after the first one in most cases which is 6 seconds after launch when the missile has reached aprox 3-4 km

Well from what I’ve seen from the development and implementation of the derby er. It looks like it will work very well with spacing out the first and second stages. From what people have been showing anyways. I’m just glad the spyder actually has something capable of reaching targets 20km out. That was barely even possible before I derby er. We can only wait and see how it acts in live servers
