Only one question’s why I Derby ER so slow since first second of launch ? (even below mach 3)
The problem is how much drag it has, it’s absurdly high and craps all its speed out once it loses its propulsion
The first pulse is very weak, weaker than derby SR. The idea of dual pulse was suppose to be saving the second pulse at high alt to minimise drag. I suppose the first pulse should loft more if the target is really far away.
This is actually sad not only it won’t perform well but this means gaijin will leave the spaa line like this for more than a year Israel should get a new spaa like HVSD/ADAMS there’s a huge gap from 9.3 to 12.7 and not mentioning that the whole tech tree spaa can’t defend against helis properly due to lack of saclos missiles
And 2 days ago the suggestion for iron dome was closed idk what that means I first it sounds broken if they added it then I learned that the new pantsir gets 96 missiles which makes the addition of iron dome not as bad of an idea but we’re talking about 2027 bc the pantsir must break the game and people must complain for a few months till something is changed
You’re a hero

alright so the I-Derby ER is still WIP, so probably it will act like an actual dual-pulse missile soon
It still feels so underwhelming compared to other top tier spaa’s
accepted, we hope this will make it better
I really like how we are talking about gaps in Israeli spaas, while ussr just recieved its 3rd absolute beast of spaa because two previous ones “didnt quite make it” according to bvvd.
Btw, spyder is a 11.3 material in its current state. If Derby er being properly implemented - 12.0.
S1 is 12.7. Stating otherwise - skill issue.
Btw, can we actually point out this case for a Spyder reports? Like we have ±70" on jet mounted stationary aesas but only +0 to +65 on Spyder instead of -50 to +90 following the same logic.
SPYDER shoudl be 0-90°, however as of right now developers does not seem to believe that is the case, and they did what we have in game.
with I-Derby ER it should be 12.3 or 12.0 yeah
So, I had bored at work and I’ve bumped into this marketing video thingy:
Parts of interest being:
Which may or may not show how large motor is relative to the missile. At the same time, looking at first pulse being 4s, second being 2s which matches seemingly 2:1 ratio of yellow and green, might mean Gaijin already knows of that. That leaves doing some more digging about propellant weight and density, if more of it can be squeezed there.
Second bit is this “launching range” in need of some definitions
So, missile was launched at 100km, target intercepted at (guessing) 60km, or missile was launched ABOVE 100km (150km?), with interception happening at 100km? I presume this relates to brochure stating “100km range for subsonic target and attacker, at medium alt”.
The issue with that is for the missile to achieve its intended 100 km, only a 4 second booster isnt enough and it doesn’t make sense because the yellow bar is how much fuel propellent a regular derby uses and it burns for around 6 seconds or more
So for the derby er first pulse should be 6 seconds like the base derby and the second pulse could be around 2-4 second
This would be more realistic and the missile would a step higher over the derby
Dunno about actual burn times, just noticed highlighted motor fills about 2/3 of entire missile, then is divided 2:1 for first and second pulse.
On second look, who knows what they were in mind, with yellow/green shading. Including that faintly green section approaching pair of fins as motor, then “yellow/green” split is about 50/50.
for comparison, AMRAAM C5 motors are bit over half of the missile length (188,97cm motor against 366cm missile = 0,516) while propellant to missile weight is less than 1/3 (51,25/161,48=0,317). So, assuming colored highlight actually represents motor in Derby ER, filling up two thirds of a missile, then more than 47kg of propellant should fit inside, no? Regular Derby seemingly fits 43,25kg, albeit in unknown motor length.
fyi I would not put much trust in Rafael renders, especially considering the fact they managed to either confuse or re-use a 2001 image of the base Derby for the I-Derby ER and claim it is a ER
If you mean image of supposed ER that was “missing” those two rectangular small fins on the sides, wasn’t it concluded to be those fins simply facing the camera?
